Okay, I realize it's been a while, but here's the first half of the final model layout featuring the Courtyard of the Carolinas.
There is a ruler on the paper to show how large the model will be:

I'll work on the other half over the next few days. Then I will start construction.
I will have all of my sketches with me at the Winter Warm-up on Saturday if you wish to see them and to get a sense on how immense this project is.

Yes, I will. I plan to finish this current layout by Friday and I will have that as well (but in the car because it is too large to carry around all day  ).
Josh, do you know if Mike Fehnel will be there? I would think so.

I just hope that at some point (doesn't matter when, but preferably after the construction tour) I will get a chance to talk to him. I'll talk about the model, show him the sketches, and talk about other things. I just hope he'll have the time. That's really the main reason why I'm coming to this event. But also to talk to all of you guys :) .

Okay so here's what happened behind the scenes at the Winter Warm Up today...

While all of you guys were talking, I sneaked off to speak with Mike Fehnel and John Taylor and I explained my project. They seemed very interested in this. Mainly because I am preserving the park history and some of us miss that old entrance. But our conversation ended so the event could start.

Later during lunch, I went to the car to get the final layout sketch (the really big one) and I came back inside to grab a quick lunch.

As Josh was taking care of the giveaways, Mike, John, and one or two others wanted to go ahead and see the sketches and the final layout. Basically, I'm happy that they want this model to be in the park. My plan is to have it finished in time for the Media Day in March.

More than likely, it will be on permanent display in the park as you enter Harmony Hall from the front. I'll send John final measurements next month so that a base can be built and the plexiglass can be made as a cover for the model. The guys from Travel Channel asked me if I would be down on March 22 with the model (because that is when they will be here to get all of the POV footage of Fury. I don't think that they'll be there for media day, but that is to be determined for they are unsure). I will call ahead of time and I'll arrive at the park about two hours prior to the media event to assemble the model and do touch-up work.

We'll see what happens soon...
