My name is Chris, and I won a contest to be the Thrill Caster for Carowinds this year! I got some gold passes for my family and I, and I'll be filming episodes all year long on construction updates, and new offerings throughout the park once we open March 28th.

The cool thing is I am just a fan, and I was reaffirmed that I am running my show, and they aren't pushing me one way or another they DO NOT want this to seem like a Carowinds advertisement from their marketing department. They are literally giving me sweet access and sending me with a lone camera man who will bust his tail filming and editing together sweet episodes me and the fans want to see!

The intro video was posted a couple of weeks ago, we just wrapped filming episode 2. I hear it should be out no later than Tuesday!

I will go into some details during the episode on Fury of course, construction of the front gate, and a sneak peek at early construction on Sling Shot near the Vortex and Boardwalk games!

If anyone has suggestions on what THEY'D like to see....or what you think would be cool ideas for a fan run show with the freedom I have, let me know!

I posted this over on Reddit on /r/rollercoasters, and some kind sir/lady pointed me in this direction! I love message boards and am very active. I live in South Charlotte with my family and am happy to join you all! I am very stoked about this opportunity!

Oh and in case you are wondering, Mike Fehnel was kind enough to correct me and make sure I say FURY 3-2-5.....so this next episode is all corrected! I have many bloopers you'll see at the end of the season saying it wrong, he got it firmly in my head lol

He must be listening to you guys, since I saw it on here while skimming through!

Also, that intro video, I was freezing, in the rain, and it was my first time....so be easy on me. I promise, the future episodes are wayyyyy more fun, I let loose a bit, and the excitement I have for this really comes out.

Sling shot base of the legs is standing at maybe 10-20' tall. I filmed a quick little snippet of it today, and will be in episode 2 posted around Tuesday! Ill link it here as soon as it is!

BTW The legs are HUGE....like really wide. Its cool seeing in person the size of these things as they're being built!

I THINK my camera guy got some "B" roll footage of that before we filmed last Friday while they were placing the last piece. I know Travel Channel was there, so we didn't get the access we wanted. We got some good footage today of the main hill, I even took a selfie at it! This pic doesnt begin to describe how tall this sucker is!

It's really cool! We just drove up on the golf cart, and started filming. The construction guys in yellow vests were all like "what the heck?"

It has a real cool feel to it. We are trying to make it seem like I "broke in" and am getting this exclusive access. We have some awesome stuff in store.

And if anyone likes wrestling (my son is 7 and loves it, and I have always been a fan) look for little subtle hints of wrestler promos in my stuff!

Yeah I am really thrilled. My work is so nice to let me leave during lunch breaks to film and stuff, everyone is really excited for me.

I also don't know many details but I will have a segment on WCCB CW that Carowinds is working on coming up! I don't know if it'll be recorded/live/morning/nights....but I am pretty excited. Life on the treadmills of the Sisky Y will never be the same! lmao

Ohhhhhh absolutely!

I will be filming with the head of park maintenance next video!

We have all kinds of plans for the taste of the Carolinas, an entire episode with the Executive Chef letting me sample some or all (please) of the new offerings they'll be having! And as a huge Scarowinds fan, I really can't wait to do some behind-the-scenes filming once that time of the year rolls around!
