Please no. Just no. :(

What's the issue with that? I mean, new slides and a new sign at the entrance can't be bad.

I am still fond of the old Ocean Island name...

I think a uniquely Carolinian name/theme would be interesting, but I don't really care. I would rather it stay Boomerang Bay (in fact I would greatly prefer it) than turn into yet another Soak City. Lame name and generic themes.

True, however can a coaster not coast thru the water park that would be awesome. Even tho Thunder Road isnt going thru water park (yet), it's still a nice view from all over Boomerang Bay seeing the right train make that turn around coast back to the station.

The only coaster the park needs right now is a proslides water coaster! If you have never experienced one, you are severely missing out!

I disagree Jarvis. While they definitely need one of those, the park lacks a family spinner, a signature woody, and a launcher.

I think we need a few more flat rides before we get another coaster.

Absolutely! After the big splash next year they need at least 5 modern flats and to renovate Boo Blasters before we get a new coaster.

I forgot all about Boo Blasters. That is desperately in need of a renovation.

Has anyone ridden the Toy Story ride at Hollywood Studios Disney? That thing is awesome! I guess it would be a pipedream to have BooBlasters reach that level of ride quality but it would be nice.

I always thought a gigs and a hyper was a pipedream....
Plus look at WMG and VttIR

Yes, I have ridden it numerous times at both Hollywood Studios (FL) and California's Great Adventure (CA). We love the ride at both places. I can't imagine a Sally Corp dark ride getting to the level of Toy Story Mania, though. Since it reportedly cost Disney Imagineers nearly $80 million to design, I can't see Cedar Fair putting in something that expensive.

I hear that Wonder Mountain's Guardian is very roughly similar to the concept of a shooting dark ride at a fraction of the cost. I do suspect that Carowinds will be getting something like that in the next few years. I'm hoping it will supplement what we have, though, and not replace Boo Blasters.

^^^ I did it at Disney California adventure. It was alright to me but it was just like sitting infront of a game console...not much of a ride with a fleshed out storyline...and I'm not much of a gamer so...yeah...it was just ok to me.

I'm willing to bet money the crowd, not coaster community, will be drawn more to a proslide water coaster than any of those other coasters. While those coasters would be nice to have they aren't really needed, in my opinion, to help with park attendance. A water coaster is unique to the area as a lot of people going to the park has probably never heard of them.

I'm with Jarvis on this one. While Carowinds will see a big bump in attendance because of Fury, if they do in fact expand the water park next year, that's where the huge numbers will start to come rolling in.

Oh, I don't disagree at all. Water park additions are high in ROI, and low on cost. A water coaster would definitely be a great addition and I hope they get one.

But Jarvis said that's what they 'needed' as the next 'coaster'. I'm of the opinion that regardless of whether or not they add a water coaster (which would be great, love the ones I've been on) to the 2016 addition, that will bring major attendance in (and it's LOOOOONG overdue).

But we know they're getting a major waterpark overhaul (with or without a coaster), so I still feel that the next coaster they 'need' is one of those three.
