What t-rex are you guys talking about? I have never noticed it...guess it doesn't matter since the mayor of carowinds never noticed it...

I wonder and hope if the stripe separating the two states will return from the front gate and over the bridge. Better yet, I wonder if they being back the gold one the park originally had.

IMO, I don't think the planters are deep enough for Magnolias. They are on the bridge elevated above the ground so I don't see where they could grow a substantial roots. I'm think of some of the storms we get and "if" the wind could topple them.

It also appears that they are 2 different sizes with plumbing embedded (off center). Maybe shooting water from one to the other? J/K

I do however Love the shape of the planter out front. Very Carowindish.

You know Rex the signage and mascot of the Dino Alive attraction that was right behind the carowinds sign in old plaza close to the parking lot.

I mean, I was at the park only once, so of course I'm not going to get used to Rex being there. But If I were to come more often, I'm sure that I could get used to it being there.

IIRC, the designs showed several other planters getting increasingly larger leading up to the gate.

I think some of you will like it better when they finish. Just picturing it now, I like it. The bottle-neck thing won't really occur because the planters will have a clearly defined path, people won't be walking between them without knowing they have to merge, so the merge won't be as sudden. At least, that's what I would assume.

I liked the T-Rex, honestly. I could care less if it comes back, though.

Yeah, it's been there since 2013. I'm trying to find another picture of it in my collection.

Yes, it looks to be a line of planters even with the inner columns of the front gate leading all the way to the bridge. That will definitely be better than an open plaza to a wide bridge with planters in the way. Hopefully they'll be flowers or trees in them (maybe with the planter itself acting as a bench.) Any green will be welcome to break up the concrete landscape.

Things are progressing fast now. The base of the platform on the Fury bridge is more than halfway done and the parking lot and landscaping are really moving along. Cant wait to see the finished product.

Sod under the coaster anyone? Would love for it not to be dirt on opening day.

Well now we can compare the new and old bridges so it is still a win!
