Shockingly, I can tell the difference between a mountain and a dark ride themed after a dragon that resides within the aforementioned mountain. :) Wonder Mountain is technically short for Wonder Mountain's Guardian, no matter which way you cut it. But from now on I will be calling it CF'S CW'S WMG: TDR

I know that you can tell the difference, but communicating the difference is what's lost. While Wonder Mountain is technically a shortened name for Wonder Mountain's Guardian, it's not a proper short form. It's like if I were to say "Where's that Carolina coaster?" You would have no idea which way to direct me because I could be referring to any of three coasters at Carowinds. The short form should be shortened to (only) include the unique part of the name in order to differentiate it from other things of similar name. Calling a coaster "BORG" or "Assimilator" is fine because there are no other things in the park that share either of those two words.

I hate you so much right now, coasterbruh... But don't worry, I fixed it so you don't sound as ridiculous! :P
I think we should anticipate a ride like WMG. After this year's better version of Leviathan, I wonder if Thrill Zone will see more thrilling additions in the form of flats. With only Scream Weaver, Drop Tower, and (The) Hurler over there, it could use a flat ride or two. Maybe they can get one from Canada's Wonderland.

Better that than Wonderland's Splash Works expansion for this year: A used kids spray ground structure and one pair of used "Tornado 12" slides that never opened to the public (it was built just before the other park, Ontario Place, closed down). Keep in mind Splash Works hasn't had an expansion in thirteen years, since 2002. Kings Dominion got what we wanted and you probably will too for 2016.

So when y'all say water coaster, are you thinking more like RiverRush at Dollywood's Splash Country or something like Journey to Atlantis? I've been on both...completely different experiences...and both referred to as "water coasters". Something like RiverRush would have to be incorporated into the waterpark, but something more like Journey to Atlantis could be put anywhere in the park.

When I say water coaster, I'm referring to something like Mammoth at Holiday World. While coaster enthusiasts don't count it as a coaster per se, for the most part we call it a water coaster anyway. I've never been to Splash Country but from looking at their website, yes, I'm talking about something like that. The GP would absolutely eat it up.

Unless Carowinds could do something like Journey to Atlantis at Orlando and not Journey to Atlantis at San Antonio, I'd prefer to not have one. I'm afraid if CF tried one, it would be the unthemed latter and not the great former one.

Yes. Journey in San Antonio is barely even a coaster.

I've only ridden the one in Orlando. It does have an actual roller coaster element, but I've always thought of it more as a water ride. I just watched a POV (yes…a dreaded TPR video…) of the one in San Antonio, and that one looks like purely a water ride. I will be at Sea World San Antonio this summer, though, and I will ride it, so I'll probably check it off on the coaster count, even though it's not coaster-y.

I've always thought of water coasters being more like Mammoth, too, but I know other people have different views.

Jarvis…I love that video! :)

Honestly, I'm SO DISSAPOINTED with Fury 325. Its a larger and taller version of The Intimidator. Air time is great and all... But I come to Carowinds for, THE LOOPS!!!! I think so far, Cedar Fair has ripped apart Carowinds and made it "Modern". The front entrance was awesome... They didn't have to rip out the plantation house.... They took the history and is giving it a cruddy "Modern" look really aggravates me... Cedar Fair needs to take out the Hurler, Put possibly a White Lightnin' replica... And bring back the BORG's ball... Carowinds is going down hill.... In my opinion...

Doesn't Carowinds have more inversions than most (if not any) other park? So, you should be happy and not complaining...

Aren't you from Michigan or something? Why would you care about the plantation house if it wasn't at your home park? :?

I live in SC.... The Plantation House is that one thing I loved looking at while waiting in line... The Plantation house is what I thought, gave Carowinds a special feel... SCAROWINDS, also has gone down.... its not as scary... or fun, but The 7th Ward was well done... Ehhhh... They need to step their game up...

I agree that the old North Gate was awesome but things have to change. Hurler will come down at some point but overall the coaster is still fun. How about a launched version of Hurler with RMC Iron Horse track?
Place the launch track where the lift is then up into a first drop similar to Medusa Steel Coaster.

As far as SCarowinds, I agree it is time to step up the game there. It seems too predictable but there is still night rides to ride. Where else can you do rides and haunts?

It's funny, Roller. I was watching a Medusa POV earlier and was thinking that same thought.
