Or they could just continue retracking Hurler, which is a great ride when it runs well and isn't trimmed.

Don't believe me? Go ride Thunder Run.

I thought about that and I believe it has to do with employees ages, from what I've seen. Now, never being to Dollywood you all can tell me to shut up but Carowinds seems to get most of its seasonal employees from local schools that are out of session where as Dollywood seems to employee more mature personnel.

It could also be due to attendance as it was stated before Dollywood is more than just rides. I'd do Christmas at Dollywood before I'd do Christmas here. Cooler weather, mountains, etc.

So, I noticed that Kings Dominion's Water Works will be renamed Soak City next year on facebook. They will not only be getting that complex, but also revamping the path and entrance from inside the park itself. This means Cedar Fair is apparently still interested in making Soak City a brand across the parts of the chain that don't feature it.

I have a new theory about what the park might have in store for 2016 now:
- A slide complex (or possibly more) on the other side of Thunder Road, with a new changing facility, bathrooms, and food options over there as well. (and maybe even an alternate in-park entrance through
- Upgrades to the current changing facilities, bathrooms, and food options (it's not looking so great in some areas -and the bathrooms/changing areas were unbearably humid as of my last visit to BB).
- Possible rename to Soak City with the current Aussie theme being removed by way of repainting and re-themeing the current attractions (i.e. new ride names, new signs, etc.).
- New signage to greet visitors as the enter the water park from the gates (possibly for Soak City or just Boomerang Bay).
- Rumored Thunder Road-related improvements for the 40th Anniversary. (maybe a new sign, new trains, improved queue, or something else along those lines).
- A possible Carowinds Plaza revamp with a fountain, gold sign being repositioned, and a wider space beyond the bridge (as they have hinted).

Any of these seem possible to me, but they are also equally as unlikely.
The only thing I know for certain... I hope I will enjoy whatever is announced for 2016! :)

BTW...
I like the fact that Carowinds has public said they pride themselves on providing a "first job" experience to the youth in the Charlotte metropolitan area. I know you didn't say otherwise, I would just like to point out that I find it very commendable.

As far as anyone's suggestion that Carowinds is going downhill by making much needed changes, well, that's just a benighted notion.

My idea for 2016 would make everyone pretty dang happy I think.

Remove Dinos Alive (which is leaving sometime in a few years anyway due to some kind of contract right?)

Give Planet Snoopy a MAJOR expansion and build the parks new transportation ride!

In the new Planet Snoopy expansion there would be like 5 new flats (two birds, one stone). I'm talking a ferris wheel, and a disk-o-coaster among other small to medium thrill flats.

The transportation ride would be a shuttle/light rail system that would move back and forth across the park. Start in my new expanded Planet Snoopy in the corner where Afterburn and Intimidator meet, and move alongside Intimidator, under the lift, under the bridge at the front gate, and pull up into the other station beside Carowinds theater/Scrambler.

I can dream right?

Wonder if we will ever see another sky ride (chairlift) Maybe from the front of park to the water park entrance?

If we got a skyride of some sort, I would ride it just because it would provide a good view of the park.

^ sky rides are a dying breed...as well as in-park transportation. Parks want you to not miss anything inside so think of all the miss opportunities you have if someone rides a transportation from one place to the next, missing all those eateries and shops in between.

Now this...I don't mind them blowing the entire years waterpark budget on! These are the wildest water coasters due to the smaller rafts.

I think that we MIGHT be getting one of those for next year. At least that's what I'd like to see next year. It would give me a reason to venture over into the water park.
