They could be for lights.

that's what I'm hoping. I loved the flags where they were. The official plans say that the flags will be going in their original positions, so that's what I'm expecting. I'll 1 up you Jarsh. I think that there will be lights there, and a flowerbed surrounding the bottom of the footer.

They're too far apart to be fountains. I think that they will be regular lights. Perhaps 20 feet tall each? I noticed that they won't be in every planter. Just every other one, so 6 in total.

It would be nice if trees went in the ones that don't appear to be for light poles.

^ You took the type right out of my fingers. I wish all of them would be big trees with flowers around the base, that would've looked nice with much needed shade before you walk into the desert.

Well, there's only 8 on the gate side of the bridge. That could lend itself to 8 flagpoles. It may be nostalgia, but I think I would like the 8 flags back on either side of the bridge where they were.

The plans of the new entrance have them placed where they used to be. So that's what I'm expecting at least.

I never noticed how few trees the old Courtyard had, I am hoping for a new fountain in Carowinds Plaza in the future. That way it won't be in the way in the new plaza. Looks like those two concrete footings have suddenly become level with the concrete walkway.

Is it just me, or the sun, or the angle...or are the pavers on each side of the state line a slightly different color? That would be cool.
