The way I was imagining wearing these in the park was a head nod and a smile or maybe a little wave when seeing another. After more thought, I don't really like talking to people just for the heck of it and would have probably taken it off the first time someone said. " hey man. You're on the forum? What's your screen name? Let's hang out."
I still think it's cool but would probably invoke more interaction than I would want.
I don't think anyone is being a downer so much as being realistic. I meet up all the time with people from here. Again, it's about running into people you know at the park, or making plans to meet up. This is a forum. You can communicate when you go here.
I may be lazy or just antisocial. I don't want to plan with people and schedule a time and place to meet. Have to make calls if I'm running late. Feel bad if I have to cancel. Meet up and sit there in awkward silence because I don't really have anything to talk about. The randomness of happening to see someone with one at the same place and time as me with no planning would just be neat. But then I want to be on my way with just a nod or wave. Maybe I'm weird
So.. I'm the one with social anxiety and i'm more social that some of y'all? Just joking, I get where a lot of y'all are coming from with your opinions.

I make plenty of effort to hang out with people I already know well. I'm planning a backpacking trip this weekend in the freezing cold. I guess I'm more of an introvert than I thought with new people.

If people still wanted to be able to meet other users, an alternative to this could be having a "Meetups" topic/forum where you could say what day/s you're going to the park, and if anyone was interested in meeting up, they could PM you to make arrangements.

I don't mind meeting new people from CC, I just wouldn't wear a silicone bracelet regardless of what it says. Cool idea, though, for those who wear them.
I was thinking of getting the new CC logo tattooed on my neck, though.
