I've always said TTD was a great thrill ride, but terrible coaster. Ka just hurts.

We'll know if and when Carowinds will get a Strata when CW gets a smaller, shorter B&M strata.

I was thinking exactly this since I read the title of this topic! At least up here, we all know Canada's Wonderland is Cedar Fair's testing ground, with Behemoth, Leviathan, WindSeeker, and Guardian all being the first open of B&M hyper, B&M giga, WindSeeker, and Triotech IDR for Cedar Fair. We get all the cool stuff first! And then another park gets a better version a year or two later...

I've been on Top Thrill Dragster and, while I thought it was a great experience, it definitely wasn't worth the wait.

I think Dragster and Ka are such impactful experiences in their short running times that they're worth the wait. You know what you're getting out of them isn't a long ride, but one of the most intense coaster moments out there in their launches.

As far as a strata coaster heading to Carowinds, I say the sky's the limit for this park. It's been clear that Cedar Fair has selected Carowinds to be their flagship park in the South. Also, now that B&M is incorporating launches I could see them produce a strata and that may sound like a stretch but probably more realistic than seeing another from Intamin due to their operational record.

A roolback... now, that is something we wish we could experience. Can't we just pay CP a small sum of money for a rollback on purpose? Then again, knowing that it is about to happen would most likely not give the same effect, huh?

Now, as to the question, it does appear that Cedar Fair still remains less comfortable with Intamin as a builder for their upcoming rides. I do not know the entire story, but maintenance expenses are part of that issue. But, why not go for the top, and do a launching Polar coaster or something... a strata with a bit more height? Of course, any launching coaster should have a longer track than TTD, but TTD is a fun (albeit short) ride!

As far as the Cedar Fair/Intamin relationship, I can't tell you anything definitive, but in my mind it was almost like a 3 strikes kind of situation that lead to them parting ways. Obviously Dragster had a lot of downtime after it was built, but that was to be expected with a ride that pushed the envelope so far. The issues with Maverick's heartline roll, the extensive problems with Shoot the Rapids' boats, and the reprofiling of Intimidator 305 are the big factors that I think drove Cedar Fair firmly into B&M's arms.

When I went to Cedar Point, I rode TTD and yes it was really cool, but it was NOT my favorite ride. I think it was either Magnum or MF for me. I think a launch coaster like Maverick would be great to have next, but since that's intamin (probably not)
