It's finished. Looks like they went with boards instead of rock/stone in this area for soem reason.

Everywhere you see hay is where they've planted grass. I hope it comes in before media day, but I don't think it will.

Sod? Anyone ever heard of that? Don't have to wait for it to come in. Then again, they may have done sod and then over seeded it and used hay on top.

Tarheel, I believe the open section you are refering to is where they will store the strollers.

Seed is cheaper, and it will look just as nice when it comes in.

When it does, sure. I was just thinking about it looking nice for media day. Come May, it will look awesome. (Hopefully before)

There's a cement truck moving along constructing the state-line from the entrance to the parking lot. This is probably a big check off the list because they'll probably start the pavers on that section soon. Once they start with the pavers, they probably would ban any VERY heavy equipment like a cement truck from that area. If they ban heavy equipment, then it's all finishing touches for the entrance.

i agree it's a big step in the right direction, but the pavers will only be up to the edge of the circle. The remainder of the path will be concrete like the other path....at least according to the plans.

Pavers or concrete, it is exciting to see it all getting done. Trees going in, grass being planted, planters being filled. All very exciting. They are really giving us an amazing entrance to the park. The scale of this project is incredible and I can't wait to walk down that path with Fury roaring overhead (or underfoot).

So the parking lot striping has started! And I know they were going to "move" the state line, but I didn't realize that it made the "bend" where they've made it. That entry walkway is gonna look kinda weird with a slight bend to it.

The state line in the old plaza was only marked to roughly where the centerpiece is now, so I am extremely surprised they are marking it all the way to the parking lot. Funny thought this is the time in over forty year visitors on a ride will be able to see where they cross the state line, not that I will be paying attention.

I wich they would take the state line marking idea even further and paint it across the entire park. I mean, paint it on everything it touches - buildings, windows, pathways, trees, landscaping, rides, slides, pools, etc. One giant line across the entire park.

Don't know about buildings and rides. But everywhere on the ground would be really cool in and of itself (and would still look cool from Google Earth.) It would also become neat gathering places for patrons. Could even add some benches and create new gathering areas around the state line throughout the park and also in the water park.

I remember that you were walking next to Mike and I on the way to the Fury plaza at the WWU. well, you were at least close to us anyway. He and I spoke about that and he'd like to do that in the near future. So we'll see what happens. Maybe next season?

you know, we need more photo spots in the park. The state line doesn't only run through the main entrance.
