Definitely hope there will be times that those parking lot lights are out... otherwise it will kinda suck for nighttime ERT for Fury.

Ummmm, as cool as a "dark" ride would be....I don't think so. I'm thinking someone looking for their car would be really upset if suddenly the parking lot lights were turned out and they were left in the dark. That is just asking for bad things to happen in a busy parking lot. Sorry, part of the price of having a really cool coaster at the entrance of your park is that you are going to have some ambient parking lot lights.

I have to agree a really dark ride would be awesome however.

I believe they did turn out the parking lot lights during the first CoasterStock after Intimidator was new.

A few nights ago there were lights shining on Fury's uprights. I don't think night rides will be very dark.

Well that just sucks for me. I'm coming to Charlotte June 8-15. No ERT that M-F....lol Since CMS will still be in session, it shouldn't be too bad crowd wise so I should be good with lines. I may still brave coming on that Sat or Sun in addition/place of one of the 2 or 3 days I was coming to the park that week depending on whatever else is going on while I'm there.

Haha I was there last night when they turned the lights on. It's bright yes but no that as the camera kind of portray. I was like ok for the lit parking lot, nice white light, then i look at the rest good old dim amber lights. I know where I'll be parking this year lol. Also it looks like they were testing some neon colored lights around by Harmony Hall and they tested slingshot last night. The seat have a blinking light on the bottom of it like windseeker's chairs.

It doesn't look to me like they have installed the rails between the pillars on the Fury bridge yet... I'm wondering what they are waiting for? The rails on the bridge into the park have been there for awhile now...

So is the toll/drop off loop exit that is now in the new parking lot going to be paved and open for public use?

Is the center circle where the sign will go empty? If so, could we be looking at a fountain element around the new Carowinds sign there?

I agree. They could just be waiting until they finish the Concrete wall that CAROWINDS will be on top of before they fill it with dirt. I'm hoping for a fountain though.

It would be really cool if the concrete wall had "Carowinds" in gold around the front of it, and the back was a cascading waterfall wall!

There are trees in the parking lot medians now. That will be nice, I hope they do that for the rest of the lot, but I actually wouldn't be surprised if they didn't.

Just going to have to get there early and park in the pretty new section.

Mike already stated that they weren't repaving the old section this year. If the rumors of waterpark expansion are true as the next phase, it would make sense to not touch the south side of the parking lot as it would be either eliminated or messed up during construction. Why put a bunch of money into something you are going to mess up the following season?
