It seems to me like the park is trying to create an atmosphere that merges the trademark thrills of a Cedar Fair park and the southern culture that the park was founded on. And I'm all for Carowinds having a unique identity!

I agree. The 50 million expansion over 3 years is almost insignificant compared to Disney and Universal's budget.

I hope they don't sign any deals with other franchises unless they're getting a killer deal. A lot of those deals cost many millions of dollars every year. They can spend that money much better than paying it out just for licensing rights.

Well they will never be like disney ,but it was like disney back in the day. Obviously it can't reach disney or universal levels but I think it needs more theming. I just don't like how the stations and paint like carolina cyclone for example looks. I liked wen they had the cartoons. Yes snoopy is getting a movie but it need more than snoopy to me. The theming doesn't all have to be from movies or tv but they need to make some renovations other than the entrance. Again my opinion

From what I have heard, they are bringing back theming to tie to the Carolinas. At the Fury announcement last August John and Julie both said that they are making changes and updates to all areas of the park. Time will tell how far they take it.

I really missed the Nickelodeon theming to it, the only mascots we have now is snoopy and friends. Im not saying remove snoopy, but if an expansion comes they should try getting cartoon network or boomerang cartoons in here like carowinds back in the day, it be cool to see characters like dexter,Ed edd and eddy, fosters home ,ect be in carowinds with some fun flats and dark rides.

Didn't say take out the snoopy im saying add more to it, If carowinds wants to be elite they need to add variety and experiences they won't find in other parks. BTW Six Flags only owns DC and Warner Bros, not the whole cartoon network, you still got plenty of shows not owned my Warner bros and other films can be added.

Cartoon Network is owned by Turner Broadcasting....which is owned by Time Warner (who owns Warner Bros.). Don't see anything aired by CN being put back in any Cedar Fair parks in the near future. Snoopy/Peanuts is more than enough. The more IPs the park has the more in debt they will eventually become...which will raise ticket prices higher than most of us would like. It's fine with what they have.

Personally I absolutely hated the Nickelodeon theming. I was very happy when it left...it looked gaudy. The only reason they had it was because it was Paramount/Viacom then.

Here's something I'm adding to my wishlist:

Looking at the livecam today, I think that the whole Palladium area would look a lot better if they'd paint the indigo blue roofing the same grey as is on the roofing of the new plaza, and they should use the same type of siding on all of the Palladium buildings that they're using on the new buildings to tie it all together.

And perhaps try to get a few C & D level artists there throughout the season.

Since Cedar Point is revamping the Hotel Breakers, and Dollywood is building their new resort, maybe if they both do well Cedar Fair could see finally bringing a similar complex to Carowinds as a viable investment. I know it's something that's always been wanted, so if everything works out maybe Carowinds could see more large steps taken to improve the park.

Carowinds started off as a THEME park. It has dwindled from that designation a long while back. It is now an AMUSEMENT park. I'd love to see theming become a part of the park again.

How much would a ride like Possesed from Doney Park cost? It's not really a flat ride since is a coaster but it won't take much space, plus it can add more height and a launch that the park needs. It can be the return of the white lighting. Not sure is a coaster like Possesed can have a look but a launch with a loop and a twist on top like that would be really fun. Plus if Carowinds wants to go higher than 325 that could be an easy way to do it.

I'd love to see a zip line in the park from the thrill zone to the county fair. It would start by Hurler and end by action theater. I guess the biggest issue is that Carowinds isn't really that scenic. But you would come into close contact with the rides.
