Don't you mean, "How much longer until Dinosaurs Alive goes...extinct?"

what does the water park opening in may have to do with anything? It be nice not having construction equipment etc around when the park opens.
The fact that the waterpark opens in may has everything to do with everything. There is no rush to have to ready by opening day. You say it would be nice to not have construction equipment around when the park opens...well, imagine if they had to wait until the park closed to start Fury 325 and the new entrance. Now last year it seemed they got a late start on things since the slides open after the water park but yeah...having construction equipment isn't really that big of a deal. Was it a big deal when it was in the park for virtually the entire season last year? Besides, it would be in an area of the park that we wont have access to anyway so im a little confused on what you mean by an earlier start...

I personally dont mind the construction while the park is open. I felt like I was more involved when the park opened this year with harmony hall, Chickie's and Pete's, Boardwalk fries and the slides still under construction. Makes me feel like I'm in an all year round park.

Well you're both in luck, Cedar Fair seems hellbent on grooming Carowinds into a destination park, and B&M are doing launches now. I would much rather have a more fully fleshed out coaster than a themed pre-launch and 22 second ride, though.

^ While I really love B&M, I want to see something different added to the park. Mack is a great manufacturer and Blue Fire / Helix have been getting rave reviews in Europe. I could definitely see Cedar Fair taking a chance and utilizing their talent on this side of the Atlantic.

We can hope. Mack makes good to great coasters with great restraints. Intamin just isn't in the cards.

screamscape states that the rumored water park expansion may include the removal of thunder road. Theres no way that happens.

I think it's ridiculous to think they would completely scrap Thunder Road after investing so much time and money in rehabilitating it. Not to mention it's arguably the most iconic coaster at Carowinds (or was).

Remember nothing last for ever. The Plantation House taught me that. I could see it gone. Also the old Scooby do coaster in the kids area too.

^^ Plus it would cost more money to remove Thunder Road than to simply build under it. I doubt that person who thinks it's getting the axe is serious.

I'm dreaming for a moment hear. But how cool would it be if Carowinds built a Smokey mountain version of Blizzard beach!! With chair lifts multiple slides and a water coaster? Now that would be a game changer out side of Orlando. Holy Moly you could have the mountain on one side of the water park and the beach on the other side just like both states.
