For those wondering about the new LED video board over the entrance... Judging from a photo Mike posted it will span between the two towers just under the roof line. It doesn't look like it will span the full width.

^ I hope they put the glassed-in posters on the back (and maybe on the front if they will look good on both sides of the screen). The back of the concrete wall the Carowinds sign is on would be a nice place to put the plaque that used to be next to the old park sign. It'd be very accessible there.

The new gate looks much more pleasing to the eye than the one in the video. :)

QQ: How come the park runs Intimidator earlier than all of the other rides? Is it because it's still fairly new?

from this picture you get a better idea of what the pillars on the roof of the entrance are. They transfer down the front to the ground making it appear as 2 huge stone structures. very nice.

It looks like they are testing the lights on the Fury sign.

I really hope we get some pics tonight of everything lit up close.

I am no expert, but my assumption is that due to the fact that it is a very tall and large roller coaster, it requires extra maintenance, so getting an early start is more efficient.

The Weather Channel is predicting rain on the 28th. But, seeing as that's still 6 days away and the Charlotte area never got near the 6-8 inches of snow they were also predicted to get several weeks back, I'm not gonna get too worried yet. If it does rain heavily on opening day, I will most likely crawl into a fetal position and cry.

Nice shot of how big SlingShot is in the background.

Was at the park today.........to process my season pass.........

Great time. The park looks phenomenal. Had a different feel to it. Like this is the place to be this year and beyond. Incredible detail, rides roaring, clean and neat designs everywhere. Going to be a fun year!

I believe that the lockers during the Banshee media day event were free, but I can't recall for sure. There was an attendant or two right out there making sure people could access them without issue. I have been to other media day events where lockers were needed for some things, and they were available free of charge. I'm guessing they could be free, but I'd bring a debit card or some cash just in case! It never hurts!

Speaking of the SlingShot, I am curious if, while the rides may be free, we are able to buy our ride videos. I'd doubt those videos would be free, but I'm curious if we could at least but the videos like we would on normal operating days. Any guesses?
