It's not like Thunder Road is outdated. The Plantation house NEEDED to go, TR doesn't.

I agree (for lack of a better term) with the Plantation House's removal and the symbolism of acknowledging the past while moving forward to the future, but Thunder Road is a classic roller coaster that's synonymous with Carowinds' and both states. It's hardly the same situation, at least not in my book.

Apart from my personal feelings toward the ride, I just don't get how removing it would benefit the park at all. It's very popular, they've just dumped a lot of money in rehab work, it's the park's signature wooden coaster -without competition, and it's fun! lol

It would just feel like something is missing if they ripped out Thunder Road.

... all of that being said. I genuinely don't think it's going anywhere. Cedar Fair has to know what a colossal mistake it would be to get rid of TR altogether. I'd sooner believe it's being RMC'd, but even that's pretty far-fetched.

In addition to again teasing the "big splash" there was also a comment about "as we roll on into the future." Thank you Carowinds for adding more torture to the moderators of this forum.

I am OK with the Plantation House going. It never bothered me as much as others, but whatever. Now, Tearing Down Thunder Road for the sake of Moving Forward doesn't follow any particular M.O. Cedar Point Still Has Blue Streak. Now, I don't know if there are rumors of Blue Streak being torn down. If it goes away I will stand corrected.

When changes are made or there is a removal of something, it's done because there is a vision of the future. It's not that they are trying to piss people off or anything, it's more so to give the general public variety and memorable experiences. In other words, to take our minds away from the hassles of the day to day life! 2015 will be a great year and in my opinion, 2016 will be even better!..#2009revisitednostalgialiveson!
