I was surprised by how many times I did come out of my seat and for how long I stayed out of it. That first drop I didn't touch the seat till i hit bottom. What I really liked were the unexpected airtimes. You know it's coming at the top of those hills, but some of the others are a really nice surprise.
As for what time to get there Friday, couldn't even begin to tell you. They aren't opening till 5 but it probably wouldn't hurt to be there early. If nothing else, get there early and chill out till they open the flood gates. You can get your new "Stateline" photos.

I plan to be there around 4:00 (if all goes as planned). As soon as I get my daughter out of school at 3:00, we will pop home to drop off her stuff, grab her brother (who gets home earlier), hit up the QT for drinks and snacks, and head down. Coming from 40 minutes away, we decided we'd rather be there early, than risk hitting traffic and getting there late. Like you said, a good opportunity for some front gate pictures.

Even today, the employee assigning you to seats let folks wait for the back row... and the Carowinds Connection large gang were allowed to wait for the front...
^ I haven't seen any independent measures taken of speed or Gs... will be interesting to say the least. It would be nice to know that information for each section of the track. There must be devices someone could take on the train to measure that continuously?
