General Carowinds discussion

We went over to the park yesterday and I noticed that there was no
music playing on the carousel. I asked the ride-op and she said(in a
distinct southern drawl) "It cut off".
Also, can anyone explain why the height requirement on the Dodgems
is 48"? That's one of the few rides my son actually wants to ride, but it
will be several years before he's tall enough. He said he rode them last
year with his dad but I don't remember. Has the height requirement or
rules for riding with a chaperone changed? I don't understand why a 44"
child can ride Hurler and Thunder Road but can't ride the Bumper
Cars. They don't go very fast at all. In fact, I never paid much attention to
the Dodgems because I thought they were boring and I would rather spend
my time riding other things.
Thunder Road was great yesterday. I wish I could have ridden a few more times.

I have a sneaking suspicion that the ride ops may be "temporarily disengaging" the music on the carosel as I have noticed it to be playing on day and not the next. I would imagine that they do get a little burned out on that music after a period of time.

Like you poor guys and gals at Top Gun. I bet your ready to strangle Kenny Loggins and the guy who says, "You have completed your mission!"

Ya they need to do some new recordings of something with the Top Gun sayings. They sound outdated and the quality seems bad to me.

Whether they get burned out on the music or not, I feel the guest should be able to enjoy it opening to close......

After all, it was the disruption of the "guest" experience that caused the recent policy change...

Coastermom, next time you notice the music not playing, you should stop at Guest Relations on the way out and fill out a comment card. Ask them about the Dodgem Cars too.

You are Right A-mart. That could be very much possible. I have learned to tune out the music and concentrate more on the Ride operation. I think the Operators over there need to do the same. It never bothered me when I was over there. At Top Gun we can’t disable the Music etc. We all have learned to Block it out and Focus on the Ride. No one up there really complains about the music.
