I know this is going to come off as arrogant saying someone who worked on the coaster is wrong, but he just can't be right. Putting on my engineering hat for a second here (okay, it's a partial hat), even if you ignore friction and assume a perfect free fall, the train would need to crest the lift at 36 miles per hour to hit 105. I'm not going to pretend to know how to account for friction and wind resistance but I assume you're looking at at least 40 mph needed cresting the top. If anyone has more than an introductory physics knowledge feel free to double check me on that.

As for certain people's assertion that only people who don't know better love the ride, Fury was my 422nd coaster. Not as many as some, but more than most. I've been on 17 of the top 20 steel in the Golden Tickets list and I think this may beat all of them. I haven't been on any of the RMC steel conversions or Expedition Ge Force and I could see myself liking any of those more possibly, but either way it's really high praise.

I'm sure there will be people who don't find Fury to be an elite ride, and will come to that conclusion by thinking on their own rather than parroting what they are told by their hero to think. I totally get that. I expect them to be in the minority though (kind of like lunatics who have Magnum as their #1 steel ;)). I think the average enthusiast, "seasoned" or not, is going to be extremely impressed by this ride.

Well said. This ride looks intense and I think you hit the nail on the head in terms of who will like it.

And I've been ducking on Goldrusher for as long as I can remember! :)

^ as others have mentioned, nobody could possibly touch anything under the bridge. the closest we come to a support is on the right side of the train in the "double helix" coming close to a barrel turn support.

I'm 6'2" and always push back as far as I can on the restraint when it is checked to allow maximum movement during the ride. (only one time yesterday did the electronics detect my seat as one that needed to be checked, and they pushed it one click tighter, lol). I'm able to come one foot out of my seat and I sat on the far right and stretched as far as I could every time I came under that support and couldn't touch it. I think it's conceivable someone might be able to brush their fingers past it but they would probably need to do what I do and be over 6'6".

That is the best head chopper in my book. It really is a HUGE column and it looks like it is coming straight for your head. LOVE IT!.

After moving out to California the past January, seeing all the footage yesterday from Fury 325 has been killing me. Hopefully I will get a chance to ride this summer or the next. Congratulations to Carowinds on building what may be one of the best coasters in the world!
