General Carowinds discussion

Was able to ride Fury twice tonight, once first thing after 5pm and the other before the park closed. I needed to ride it at night. Friends of mine were on the 2nd to last train and they let them ride again if no one was in their queue.

I think I am ready to declare this my favorite coaster now, especially in the front seat. I just don't really care for slowdown at the top of the hill but that's my only complaint and I will deal with it or go get therapy for it. :lolno:

Also, I tried both times to hit the headchopper support in the helix but missed both times.

Well this is incredible. Waited 1 1/2 hours to ride and totally worth it. Saw a bunch of you in line, and know it had to be your 2nd time of the night at least. Here is to the start of a great season! Love so much of what is being done to the park, and this ride is just awesome.

Rode twice at night. So fun. 5th and 6th rows. Hands up down the hill letting myself "float" was an awesome added experience! Great time

I've heard "squeaking" on Kraken, SkeiKra and Kumba as they leave the station.

Made a clockwise tour of the park and knocked out 6 other coasters before I figured it was time for Fury. Got in line at 9pm and only waited 70 minutes. I was really surprised at how fast the line went. They were seriously chewing through people. It's basically about an hour from the official start of the line.

Loved it. The lift hill was crazy. Especially how it sped up about 3/4 of the way up and then slowed down right before the top. Super odd, but fun. What a drop. It's insane how fast you're back up and around that first turn. My (now previous) favorite coaster was Maverick, so I love twists and turns. And this had plenty...but with SPEED.

The sideways air on the turnaround was totally unique. Great drop down into the tunnel. But probably the most shocking element to me was the airtime on the three hills at the end. MAJOR airtime. And I'd even go so far as to say that it's even more sustained and enjoyable than the trim-infested airtime on Intimidator. And yes, I ducked at the head chopper.

All in all, this is my new #1. Fun, fun, fun.

I honestly though the ride would feel a bit crammed in the back corner of the park, but if feels very included. Also, the first drop didn't feel as g-heavy as Intimidator's. I know practically nothing about physics, but I suspect it has something to do with the longer trains. So I didn't feel at risk for greying out. Fury 325 really makes a front gate statement. It's impossible to ignore it!

The hour and a half lines made me both happy and sad. It made me happy because Carowinds is going to see a significant attendance boost. It made me sad because I could not get a night ride like I hoped.
