I rode nighthawk and Intimidator first as soon as I walked in park. They both were walk on. At the point we decided to ride all the neglected rides and show them some love since everyone rushed down Fury.

I like that they added friction pads on the staircase in the Hurler queue.

I would love to see some picks of the locker rental and gift shop at the gate !! Have seen any posted from the inside or up close from outside.

Hey guys, not sure if this is the right forum for this question but can anyone identify why there are so many empty parking spaces in the new parking lot near the bus lot?? Did Carowinds decide to block those spaces off for season passholders or is that yet another "upcharge" area for preferred parking like Busch Gardens and SW? just curious

2 things I've noticed the past two days: the nice big fountain in Vortex plaza has been replaced by some really out of place looking potted trees/shrubs. I hate that they removed it since water features are always a nice touch aesthetically and are refreshing on hot summer days. Also, the road lines and pedestrian crosswalks on the pavement from the Wayne's World days have been painted black to blend in with the asphalt.

I don't know why people are saying Nighthawk is closed because I saw it running around 12:40 and there was a bag check before you entered the entrance circle.

I am disappointed also to hear that these water fountains have been removed, including the front gate as well. I like water fountains and trees for an aesthetically pleasing environment. But overall the new entrance looks great from the pics I have seen.

Does anyone know if they will put in any security measures at the entrance of the park?

Do you say that about every other place you go in your daily life that doesn't force you through security screening?

No but then again I don't go to a lot of places where thousands of people go every week, if not days. And on top of that, it just seemed odd that Carowinds would go from security screening to nothing at all.

They done bag checks today. The Vortex plaza fountain is normally off this early in the season, it assume it is because there is no where other the walkway for the water to collect.

Most amusement parks I've been to do not have metal detectors, including Disney World and Cedar Point.

The only 2 parks I've been to that had metal detectors at the entrance are Carowinds and SFOG. I'm glad they got rid of that fugly look at Carowinds. At the FL parks we only have bag checks when entering the park and they have it at Citywalk for Universal. Universal Orlando is however currently testing out metal detectors on the Rip Ride Rocket coaster and may be installed at the other ones throughout the resort. This may eventually allow the dragons to duel again if they work out.
