I rode Fury twice yesterday and there's just one word to describe it...PHENOMENAL! I consider myself lucky in that the first time I rode it, I was able to ride in the very last seat. My second time riding it(my night ride at around 10 pm), I was able to ride in the front car. Let me tell ya, they're both equally exhilarating experiences...just in very different ways.

Got to ride Fury last night. All I can say is WOW, lots of air time and Fury is fast from the beginning to the end. Also met a gentleman from WVA who visits all of Cedar Fair Parks. His number one was The Beast, then Banshee, then Millennium force. He said Fury looks promising. When we got off he said he has a new number 1.

I cant get enough of Fury325. I got in 2 night rides last night and there aren't any words I could articulate to describe how phenomenal that ride is. I guess I did find a word lol. I'll be there today around 3pm and can't wait.

Edwardo it was good seeing you last night dude.

I got to ride last night also it was awesome to see people on my train clap and cheer after the ride was over I think Carowinds has a hit on its hands  I was impressed especially with the dive into the tunnel under the entrance you get some serious airtime there and the final Hills what an awesome experience cannot wait to ride it more this season certainly worth the 1 and a half hour wait.

Thought I'd add my quick recap on last night, also. Got there a bit after 5 (after our normal 40 minute drive took an hour and a half). Went straight to Fury and waited just over an hour. We got the last row and it was awesome! The kids and I all asked each other "What would you rate it?", but we couldn't answer because it was all just a blur!

Did some other rides after that, and saw FamousAmos' model, which looks amazing! One thing of note: we got stuck on Afterburn. We finished the whole ride, but the restraints wouldn't release once we were back in the station. We sat for about 10 minutes before they fixed it. I was just grateful that we were the train inside the station, and not the one waiting behind us.

Went to check out the Fury line again around 9:15, and it was significantly shorter than what it was earlier in the day, so we got in it again. Met Coasterbruh and some other members in the line, which was great! After tapping him on the shoulder and introducing myself, the man behind me asks if that's was him. He said he reads here but doesn't post. I'm sorry I didn't get your name, but if you are reading this, it was great meeting you and chatting with you through the line!

On this ride, we got assigned the front row. We hadn't been too nervous until we sat down. LOL But wow. Just...wow. Peering over that lift hill, down the 80 degree drop is indescribable. To me, it seriously felt like we stopped there for a few seconds, just to delay the torture. lol The wind is so forceful that your voice literally gets taken away. It was COLD, though!

We didn't leave the park until after 10pm, and both kids fell asleep on the way home (they had already had a full day of school). Since this is our Spring Break week, I think we are going to try to go back either Tuesday or Wednesday afternoon...can't wait to ride Fury again!

(Sorry, I said this would be a quick recap, and it's not. I have a tendency to do that...)

Hi everyone! I've been a long-time lurker (since last June, I think) but just now decided to create an account here. I've ridden all the coasters at the park and a few from some other parks, but I'm really not an experienced rider at all. Anyway, here was my experience at the park last night:

  • I arrived at the park at 4:30 and waited about a half hour to get my pass made because I stupidly neglected to do so before the season started.
  • Fury’s line was an hour long, but it wasn’t too bad a wait.
  • As for the ride itself, I enjoyed it a lot. The climb up the lift was exhilarating because of the train's speed, the drop was great, and I particularly enjoyed the s-curve. However, the ride wasn't AS fantastic as I was expecting, and that may be because I built it up too much in my mind (not to mention the long wait and sub-50 temperatures). With that said, it was still a great ride, and I'd love to see what would happen with an even better ride next time I go.
  • After Fury, I went straight to Afterburn, which was a walk-on. However, the op was surprisingly assigning seats which made no sense to me since it wasn’t even a one-train wait. I’m expecting they’ll get less rigid as the season progresses.
  • Now Afterburn was my first credit ever, so I may be slightly biased, but when I rode it last night, I was shocked to discover that I actually enjoyed the ride as much as Fury (perhaps even slightly more). The zero-g roll/batwing combo was particularly amazing. As of right now, I'm having a difficult time deciding between Fury and Afterburn as my #1 in the park, but I’m definitely open to seeing if that will change with another ride on the former.
  • After Afterburn (heh), I decided to go to Thunder Road because of the demolition rumors. I rode on the North Carolina (blue) side, and it was a one-train wait. It was actually quite fun - I really enjoyed the first half of the coaster (the drop through the turnaround). The trip back to the station was very rough, though.
  • Once I finished Thunder Road, I rode Afterburn again (5-10 minute wait) and then went over to Intimidator (20 minute wait). It was very fun and floaty, but I realized that it really isn’t the most action-packed ride (plus it was cold)! I’d say it’s my #3 in the park overall behind Afterburn and Fury.
  • Overall, last night was definitely enjoyable. I plan on returning to the park soon and would like to see Fury completely surpass Afterburn as my #1 when I come back.

This is what I just posted on Yelp. There's some pictures there from my phone. http://www.yelp.com/biz/carowinds-charl ... pgNNblpHSg

Oh Carowinds! I've seen you've grown up so much since my last review. You're no longer a little kid anymore but now on the map of thrill seeker parks with the recent additions of Fury325 and Slingshot.

You only opened to the public today for 2015 but I've already been here twice this year.I was one of the lucky winners of Fury's First rider auction to benefit the Cam Newton Foundation and I am also a season pass holder so I went to preview night.

The new entrance is beatiful. I love how Fury325 interacts with you and goes over and under you as you walk toward the gate. The new ticket booths, gate and plaza are all efficient. Behind the Carowinds sign, you also give us a brief history of the park.

Then there's Fury325 - your new signature coaster. In the two days, I've already ridden it 12 times. Such an amazing coaster and each seat gives you a different experience. I recommend trying the back first, sit on either side and then try the front. Truly Exhilarating!!!! You just stole the title of my favorite coaster from your big brother park, Cedar Point. The lighting package is spectacular and the shop name "The Hive at 325" is such a creative name.

Slingshot I probably will not ride but I see it as a great addition to the park.

And I love Harmony Hall and the improvements you made on the food. Although your finger food at the bar...(yes, Carowinds now has a bar for us adults!) was not that great, I got to sample some of your regular options on Media Day and it was great. I am also looking forward to your upcoming Food Festival.

Great job Carowinds. I hear rumors of what's coming in 2016 but I have all of 2015 to get through and enjoy Fury since I truly do suffer from #FuryFever.

It looks like they are removing the water dummies from morning testing so the riders in line should get to ride soon! I know it's COLD. I've been to Dollywood in 35/40 degree weather and dealt with 45 and below temps riding the coasters at Seaworld on NYE. Since this coaster is twice the height or more of any of those I can only imagine how cold it's going to feel for those riding this morning. With that said...If I still lived in Charlotte, I'd probably be right there with everyone....lol

On a side note...it's funny watching how Hurler is running at a snails pace compared to Fury. That thing is crawling through it's course...lol

Got my night ride in last night (waited 1 1/2 hr). It was incredible. With the lines that long last night, today will probably be way worse (as i thought). It actually does move quickly though. Have fun everyone that gets to go today!
