General Carowinds discussion

So I just got back from Disney World, and I happened to ride Splash Mountain for the first time. I LOVED IT. I used to not have much respect for water rides because they are usually very shot, and not too exciting. I know that it is incredibly unlikely that Carowinds would receive themeing that could compare to Disney, but the basic idea is awesome. If Carowinds could pull off an OK themed log flume or water coaster, I would be amazed!

I think that there is a big possibility of Carowinds getting a log flume/water coaster. I think that Carowinds is realizing that people miss the old log flume, plus we already got 2 new water slides last year. Maybe if we do receive a new log flume/water coaster, it could go in the water park on the other side of Thunder Road. The park did say that there would be a "big splash as we roll on through the years, so that could be a hint towards a water coaster rather than a log flume.

If we are getting a large water park expansion, which I expect will happen in Carowinds' near future, I agree with Tarheel. I think that a tall speed slide (especially a record-breaker) would attract a lot more guests to the water park. A mat racer would also be a great fit for the park, it would look really cool if it went right beside Thunder Road. A drop box slide would be good too, it could possibly be built on the same tower as a speed slide.

Those are my "big splash" ideas! :D

The Log Flume alligator is one of my favorite part of Boomerang Bay...
When I said "flooded walkways", I mean like 3" depth. My whole concept is to keep me from burning my tenderfeet, which is why I love the gator.

The walkways are like that at Aquatica in Orlando, water country usa in Williamsburg and Adventure Island in Tampa has a little stream. I don't know much of the other water parks cause I haven't visited them. I am not too sure if Kentucky Kingdom has them because it wasn't that hot to notice them when I went.

That didn't work for Kentucky Kingdom. They have this...

Which is the tallest body slide in north america and the tallest of its kind, drop box, in the world. Lots didn't travel in droves. Same can be said about that verruckt. Other than the rafts flying off, I haven't heard much buzz about it. Its all about uniqueness when it comes to the water slides these days...

the phrase "big splash" has been used quite a bit. It also happens to be the name of a hotel with indoor water park. Could cedar fair have found the partner they needed to build a resort hotel at Carowinds?

All I'm going to say is, don't automatically think water park expansion because of the big splash comment. I'm about to log out now so that I can burn some 40 year old wood on my land. Hopefully I will have enough white water to put the fire out.? And I also have to find a place to relocate these cars with old bumpers. I may hold on to my southern star but not quite sure yet....

Are you not going to Yoyo while watching Dinosaurs Boo each other on the Hill after the Afterburn from the Meteorite goes out like a Whirling Dervish of a Wild Bull.
Come on Barbwire, they aren't going to do away with the entire County Fair area or even as much as you are trying to lead us to believe. Besides if you work for Carowinds/Cedar Fair and are giving out truthful information, your employment will be burned out because I doubt you have been given this much information and permission to give it out.

Once their was a tornado that was going to blown away but instead a Nut was blown away.

Huh? I was put on Final Notice when I worked at Carowinds for giving the hint that Carolina Cyclone was going to be removed which I overheard from the park's general manager at the time. The post that got me rewarded with Final Notice is around here somewhere. Make up all the false stories you want but once you hit on a true clue, they start asking you questions and you are quickly dealt with.

would guess that the only Log flume built in America in the last 17 years has been Dudly do rite. Maybe one at Six flags in DC. Because all parks have one beside Carowinds. I think themeing it to the Smokey Mnts would be cooler than a peanuts theme. Powder Keg would be my first choice. But a 3 ride deal with Mack. A flume 1st a river battle ride (Blackbeard revenge) And top it off with our on Blue Fire style Coaster (White Lightning) would be great.
