General Carowinds discussion

Hurler's line seemed to move faster without assigned seating. The only coaster I know they weren't doing it on was Thunder Road, I think it just has to do with the fact that at the moment they have the staff to do it.

It does seem like assigned seating hurts more than it helps. When the attendant is too slow rows go out empty, something which rarely happens with regular queuing, so you end up with less capacity plus annoy people who want to choose their seat.

I don't get grouping Afterburn, a 16 year old coaster? on regular days. SCarowinds? Sure. But Saturday was a very slow day overall at the park (except for Fury) and I really can't see why they needed someone grouping and keeping most of the station empty.

If the park has a safety concern, I guess I'd understand, but it's kind of annoying.

Hopefully they'll relax those rules on Afterburn as the season goes on. That's the only ride where I consider it absolutely necessary to sit in the front row. I had to ride it on like the 4th row on Friday and was super sad about it.

Those are some nice pics! Are you at Carowinds today? On the webcam, Fury has no line, and people are getting off and walking back on. It seems too good to be true; can you confirm?

Ha Ha. Yep. On day number #4 of the season (and with much nicer weather than any day so far) Fury is a walk-on. And with only 2 trains running.

I'm glad I'm old and patient. We probably would have been those people standing for hours in lousy weather. Looking forward to riding it dozens of times tomorrow, with 70 degree temps.

Char/Meck schools are in school this week, though, so that might be part of it. My kids are off, so we will be there on Wednesday (again), for some more Fury time! Hoping the crowds will be similar to today!!

I'm gonna try and go on Wednesday, too! Let me know if you wanna meet up.

I do wish that they would have a single rider line since they are assigning all seats. It just seems that would be a more efficient way to fill all the trains to capacity.

Also curious, I want to be able to wait an extra train or two to get front or back
