Get out my yard kid!!

On a side note, this is my first year in a while having a season pass to Carowinds and I'm loving that quick entrance. I left work yesterday about 5:30 and by 6pm I was parked, through the gate and waiting for Fury. No security crap to mess with, convenient parking near the coaster bridge entrance, and a quick scan of the card for all of it.

WOOHOO!!

Let me start this by saying that I normally don't use my pass to get in, I use an app called Card Star (you type in the number under the bar code on your pass and it creates an exact replica). The primary reason I use my phone is because I have this irrational fear that I'll miss my pocket when I go to put my pass back in and it'll be gone and I will have to pay a replacement fee, whereas with my phone, I can hear it hit the ground if I miss my pocket or something random happens. Anyways, yesterday afternoon I walked up to the entrance and proceeded to show the man there my phone with the bar code on it. Well at first he was sort of thrown off, and he said that I needed to get it processed. even though I have a card. I also explained to him that the bar code on my phone is the exact bar code that is on my pass. Once I said that, he scanned it and my picture came up, yet he still kept going. I had a hard time understanding this seeing that if my picture had popped up on the screen saying that I was a valid pass holder. He again, more angrily(for lack of a better word), asked to see my card. I'm not one to argue or go off on him, and I just wanted to get into the park. At that point my dad who was with me got sort of fed up and just said "For god's sake just show him the card." So I showed it to him and he was like, "next time just show me the card." Anyways I found it somewhat funny that as soon as I walked away, the lady next to him was confused and asked if they needed to have a physical card. Needless to say, use your pass for the few of you that might use your phone or any electronic bar code.

I was told via phone that even though I had my voucher, I would still have to get it processed and get a card before I would be allowed entry into the park. I was kindof pissed by that but it took less than 5 minutes to get them processed when I got there so I didn't raise a stink.

Maybe I'm missing your point, but it would be common sense to me that I would need a season pass processed before entering the park if I only had a voucher.

You used to be able to enter the park with a voucher and then get your pass processed anytime during your visit. Of course this was when pass processing was accessed from inside the park near the bridge, which was some years ago.

And I was told this past winter that it would be this way again. They would scan the bar-code (Like they did at the toll plaza for parking) and allow you to enter. (You would only be able to do that ONE time. Then you simply enter the season pass area from the picnic entrance sometime during your visit to have the card made. Evidently, something changed and they decided not to do that.

To be clear you could bring up to 6 friends per passholder per day. (with the extra cost of course on that day)) Is there a limit of how many times you can bring a friend? I have been a season pass holder for years but never really used the bring a friend deal. I got a few friends that want to go but don't have the money to buy a season pass this year. I just want to be clear that there is NOT a limit to how many times you can "bring a friend". Thanks

exclusively online i believe. my friend last-minute decided on a SP at the window, only to find out the entire cost upfront had to be paid.

The reason for this is quite simple, fraud. Example, person A enters the park using the voucher for entry. Person A leaves the park a few minutes later getting their hand stamped and gives the voucher to person B. Person B takes the voucher to the processing center and gets their pass.

Of course this is irrelevant if the season pass processing center is only accessible from inside the park, but that causes problems of its own.

There is no limit to the number of days you can take advantage of the bring a friend discount. Of course if you were meeting up with strangers everyday and they were paying you to get them into the park at the discounted price, that would be fraud.

No. I was told that the voucher could only be scanned ONCE for entry with presentation of a valid photo ID. To get the pass processed, you also need a photo ID. So, that theory is handled. It's all good. Season pass processing isn't what it used to be. I've been watching that line this morning. It's been backed up but moving incredibly fast. (I can remember waiting 2 hours for a season pass in the past when each person had to wait on the cards to be printed with the photo on the card.) I'll bet none of these people are waiting more than 15-20 minutes. There's a continuous stream of people coming out of the building and the people in line hardly ever stop moving.

For the 30 minute ERT on Furry, where do you go? Is there a separate line to get into the park early for pass holders? Sorry if this is a redundant or silly question. I can't just remember ever going to the park earlier than 11. Thanks!

I couldn't find a forum to post this in but...

Until May 31, 2015 season pass holders are able to get bring-a-friend tickets for only 9.99. This is not listed anywhere on the website but it is listed on a flyer that Carowinds sent me in the mail trying to convince me to buy a pass. I just read it now because I already had my pass. But I just thought I would let y'all know!

^Yep! There's been a lot of comments on their fb page about it...and a lot of confusion, since there's not a lot of documentation about how to use it.
Anyway...it's limited to one guest per season Passholder, whereas the regular baf deals allow 6 guests per Passholder per day. To get the deal, you have to tell the person at the ticket booth you want your $9.99 baf pass. :)

So, wait.....you mean to tell me that that $30 BAF pass I bought yesterday could have been had for $10?
That makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.

Yep. If you hadn't already brought a friend for $9.99 and you specifically asked to pay $9.99 for the friend you brought yesterday, they would've done that for you. It really wasn't the wisest marketing decision on their part.
