I would guess the water park will see a water coaster in 2016, similar to something like Holiday World owns. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the nearest water coasters to us are at Williamsburg and at Typhoon Lagoon. In order to complete the 3-year, $50M upgrade at the park, something within reasonable financial expectations would include a water coaster, which could easily weave in and around TR and on the other side of it. I would highly doubt they would scrap TR, but it could split the water coaster. Yes, a splash down such as on Manta, Sheikra or Griffon would come to mind, BUT we are talking another $20M-$25M to realistically consider that kind of addition.

Two things....

1. River Rush is 3 1/2 hours away at Splash Country.
2. While I doubt we are getting a dive coaster in 2016, it would only cost about $17 million for a Griffon-sized dive coaster.

So I had an idea for a thing called 'Beach Party' and it would be a DJ playing music at Bondi Beach (or whatever it would be called in 2016). It would also be an interactive thing with lifeguards throwing beach balls into the water. I just hope it would be family oriented and not too spring break-y.

Considering Griffon cost $15.5 million, I'm going to guess he did.

Hmmm... well, let's see. We could use a capsule drop slide or whatever you call those. Six Flags has some, and Six Flags White Water in Marietta, GA, is converting their tallest water slide into an even-taller capsule slide called Dive Bomber, so Carowinds could use one or two of those. Of course, most of us love record-breakers, so let's make it 200 feet tall (with an elevator to the top?)

Also, an awesome log flume somewhere in the park that is on the level of Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls (Universal Studios' Islands of Adventure). In addition, a crafty and fun water coaster works too!

^^^ I did factor in inflation. Dive coasters are a peculiar type from B&M. They are probably the cheapest overall rides to build. that could depend on several things, like train length and track length. Since dive coasters aren't that long, I think it may have something to do with track length.

I'm not sure how I'd feel about a dive at Carowinds, because I felt that Fury's drop was more comparable to Griffon's than any of the 3 hypers I've been on. And dive coasters are usually all about the drop. Personally, I'd rather see a launched wing rider with water elements. But I doubt that we'll see another coaster before at least 2019.

My big splash would be a RMC similar to Outlaw Run that travels into the woods by the Campground and back. Since there is a 0% chance of that happening, I'll be happy as long as Thunder Road stays next year.

I noticed that Hang Time have been removed from Dorney's ride list. Wonder why. It does create a splash during it's cycle with the water literally spraying riders while in cycle....hmmm or nah? lol

If I'm not mistaken that $50M dollar 3 year plan ( phase 1) ended with Fury and the new entrance ( and included the two new slides and Harmony Hall) and that the next phase will have its own big dollar ammount ( another $50M or more who knows) est to spend over the next 3 years ( 2016-2019). So anything being constructed for next year is coming out of a new budget, not to be included with the most recent investment.

Last year was the first year of the 3 year investment, so the waterslides and Harmony hall were the start. The rides next year will be a part of the $50,000,000

Hmm, maybe but didn't Dorney imply the ride was worn out?

Don't remove that pool - it is the best place to take the toddlers and it is so very quiet and hidden over there in the corner . . . at least until the new slides were put in last season.

From what I've heard the ride has already been not only removed, but scrapped.
