Not to derail the thread, but if you get a headache from riding I305 you're either soft or riding it wrong.

If you have to ride a coaster a certain way or else you 'rode it wrong', then the coaster company (Intamin) is doing it wrong.
Before people think this is an attack on Intamin, we have two coasters from B&M and Vakoma that you must 'ride right' or else you are in for a rough ride (Nighthawk and Vortex).

The first time I rode I305 I had a terrible headache the rest of the day. I don't even recall having a hard time with hitting the otsr.. but my first ride was very gray, all I saw was the bright red track in front of me. So I rode it another 4 times before deciding to take a break for the day.
With Fury I did eventually get some sort of headache after a few rides on media day, but nothing like I305. Never had any sort of queasy feeling from either. We went straight back to Fury after lunch, lol.

I was a little concerned that with Fury's length it was going to have a really nice hill and speed, but then get boring like with MF. It amazed me that they were able to get a coaster of that length from being boring at any point of the ride, but maybe that's just me. May also have to see how it feels a year or two from now, once the initial excitement wears down some.

I've noticed Fury's trains are vibrating. It gave me a nasty headache. It isn't an issue, but it shouldn't happen on this baby... It's brand new. Got my first front seat ride today! Rode 3 times. Once in row 5 (slight vibration), once in row 8 (definitely vibration). I think I like the front better than the back. In addition to that, when in line for Intimidator, an employee accidentally hit the E-Stop. One train stopped on the transfer track and one train stopped at the base of the lift. I just knew it was an E-Stop because the lift spiel was going but there was no train climbing the lift and the train stopped really hard on the transfer track. Did anyone else experience this?

I appreciate the generalization. I wouldn't call someone "soft" who rode Voyage 30+ times at Holiwood Nights last year, but maybe we just have different definitions. Maybe we should compare coaster counts?

Ride 1 on I-305 - "Hey this ride is really fun and super intense!"
Ride 2 on I-305 - "Hmm.. I feel kind of strange"
Ride 3 on I-305 - "I have to lay down, my brain is about to explode"

It's a good ride, it's just not meant to be ridden many times in a row. Also the straps, while better than the OSTR's, cut into my shoulders and give me a "rug" burn. I hate them with a passion. I also think it isn't intense enough at the end, and would love to see the trim on the 2nd airtime hill removed.

I have gotten the same feeling after riding Intimidator; however, this was after three consecutive rides in the back row, on a hot sunny day. I usually have a pretty iron stomach, so I would belive that many people hurling. Maybe the real Hurler will finally live up to its name if some of these people walk over after a ride on Fury.

I hope no one has hurled while the ride is in progress!! UGH! Hopefully it's after. I don't really get motion sickness, but lots of people do. It makes me wonder why people who know they get motion sickness even get on a roller coaster in the first place.

^ I was thinking the same thing. Roller coasters have never made me the least bit queasy, even on a full stomach. Now spinning rides I avoid (other than scrambler and windseeker) because those will make me sick. I'm actually shocked to hear how many people have been getting sick on Fury. Is it normal for it to happen that much? 4 out of 7 rides in a day is crazy. I'm terrified of being puked on lol

Well, I have not gotten up to CW yet (that might still happen this year), but the three gigas in the USA are on the TOP of my coaster list. I lived in Michigan for 23 years, so I have been biased and found sentiment in MF. For years, it has been my top coaster. Last summer, I rode 305 about 10 times in one day, and Elaine and I loved it, but I found it hard to place it above MF. In fact, I rode 305 on the last ride on July 17th and immediately drove to Cedar Point for Coaster Campout. The first ride during early entry for us was Millennium Force. So, essentially, we rode two gigas back to back within 9 hours. We still liked MF a little bit more than 305 due to the completeness of the ride, but we could tell a great difference in intensity level as we went into the overbank on MF... no huge right hand turn with near-gray out! Now, I love 305, and I am confident that I could marathon that (at least for a few hours), and I could easily marathon MF. But, on 3/25, I rode Fury 325, and it was quite the ride. If I am being unbiased and fair to all coasters without consideration for sentiment, Fury 325 is my top coaster thus far. I've been on 100 coasters. Certainly, that is not a HUGE amount, but I am confident in my top 3 so far!

Fury 325
MF
305

Now, I'm anxious to see where Leviathan and Steel Dragon 2000 fit into the list!

about the puking thing:

It's real. And I don't understand it. And it's not just Fury (Intimidator too). I've made it to the park a couple times this week. We were there most all day Tuesday. And I went by myself yesterday (primarily for lunch, but made 2 rides on Fury also).

Do not look at the catwalks as you head into the stations! If you aren't feeling sick from the ride, looking at those puke-walks will.

Complete and total barforama (movie reference for old people)

And Carowinds employees, maybe get the hose out? please? It's freaking nasty looking at people's tossed lunches of broccoli.

About the vibrations on Fury:

I think I have 9 or 10 rides on Fury (I have not been actually counting). I had one ride with some significant vibes. And I forget where I was sitting when it happened. All the others were perfectly smooth, that includes rides from all the various locations (front, middle, back, left, right). I've got no clue what caused the vibes on that one ride.

If I were just to guess, I think it might be a train that got loaded especially unevenly.

I posted that I felt a vibration that gave me a bad headache in seat 1 of row 4. Bad enough that I'm glad it wasn't my first ride or I wouldn't have gotten back on. Row 1, seat 4 felt like i was flying. No vibration at all. YES, someone should have a look as to why it's vibrating and give us a report. Vibration like that will certainly wear on the ride (as well as the riders) and it's not going to last long vibrating at that speed (had same vibration on Afterburn in row 5)

Here is my guess, now there is nothing to back this theory of mine but I feel it is just logical. I think The tight flat turn into the station which is causing the horrible whistling noise is from too much pressure being on the inside wheels (of each rail). I think that is causing an uneven wear or something to those wheels, just the slightest change can have a big effect going 95 MPH. Again I have no clue how true that could be but just seems logical because there is no way that noise can be good for the train one way or another.

YAY!!! for the mob of cars entering the toll booth. It's definitely going to be busy day!! The new entrance is living up to it's purpose for sure. In the old one there would've been a pile up of people by now.
#75244
I find it odd that enthusiasts aren't able to marathon on Fury325. Rob Decker described this as something he could ride all day, and people on this board say they have to drop out after maybe 4 or 5 rides. Even the coaster critic said he couldn't ride it all day and gave the ride a 4/5 for rideability. I don't recall feeling the least bit sick after either of my rides on Friday or Saturday, but then again, I only got one ride on each of those days.

Vehicle traffic has been backed up beyond the scope of the camera for the last hour. I'm glad I'm not there today. Fury line is into the back queue under the brake and people still lined up to get to the entrance sign. By the time everyone gets parked and into the park, Fury line is gonna be MASSIVE.
