Rob Decker described this as something he could ride all day, and people on this board say they have to drop out after maybe 4 or 5 rides. Even the coaster critic said he couldn't ride it all day and gave the ride a 4/5 for rideability. I don't recall feeling the least bit sick after either of my rides on Friday or Saturday, but then again, I only got one ride on each of those days.

Sunday before park opening, I rode it 8 times within maybe 1 hour. I was fine. My wife tapped out after 6 straight rides. I can't do spinning rides, the Carolina Cobra gets my head feeling foggy a bit....but Fury was smooth as silk and fine.

Different strokes for different folks I reckon.

We did 5 or six rides in a row (20 min wait in line, between) with no problem whatsoever. And we ate when we first arrived at the park, before heading to Fury. And we did get the vibes on one of those rides. That was how we started the day. We aren't the youngest folks either. We did have a headache on the last Fury ride of the day. But that was caused by the headbanging from an earlier ride on Vortex.

But then I don't think I have much of a problem with motion sickness. The only time I can remember even getting a bit queasy was on 24 foot boat, on Lake Michigan. The waves got well over 10 feet, and it took a couple hours to get back to the marina. I didn't get sick, but felt really ill.

Fun story about motion sickness:

I was on a small turbo-prop plane that hit an amazing patch of turbulence near a thunderstorm. oh boy. This was long before 9/11. Back in those days, there was only a curtain separating the pilots from the passengers on those commuter flights. I was in the front row, right behind the curtains. We hit an air pocket and plane dropped in free fall for a few hundred feet before the wings regained lift. The plane momentarily pulled some heavy G forces when lift was regained. Every single person (besides me and the pilots) on the plane simultaneously puked at that point (plenty of people had already been getting sick for a while). There's nothing quite like the sound (and smell) of 20 people simultaneously losing their dinner. The pilots giggled for moment, and then got on the intercom to apologize again for the rough flight. But people don't expect a free fall like that on plane. But on Fury? That's the whole reason we stand in line for Fury! It's not a surprise like it was on the plane. If that's not something you can handle, when you know it is coming, I just don't know what you are doing riding it.

Yeah I rode it 7 times on media day. 3 before lunch and 4 after filling up on lunch. Never once felt the least bit queasy just a slight headache. It's just surprising hearing of all the sickness in the park on both intimidator and fury. I go to parks alot and went to Carowinds quite a bit last year and never witnessed anyone getting sick on anything. And in all the years of going to parks I've only seen someone get sick twice and that was at KD. I thought it was more rare then what it seems like since opening this year. (I have a phobia of throwing up, took me a while to finally be able to eat when going to parks because I was scared of being sick. Finally after years of never getting sick I was able to convince myself I'd be OK and have been fine since.)

Lines are LONG today, but thankfully I got a Fast Lane. On another note, sean978 and I happened to ride Fury with Scott and Carol from News Plus Notes this morning!

I am debating on hitting the park after work today. Been watching the web cams and it's just constant traffic into the park so I am sure parking is out in BFE by now. I may opt for plan B of hitting the park early on Sunday instead and going for a beer today.

Got in one Fury ride today, took a bit more than an hour after they completed test runs about 10:15 - 10:20.. Then waited 30-40 minutes on the Flyers, went to the car and grabbed the Nikon because lines were ridiculous everywhere. The lines for Hurler and Cyclone were both spilling out in the midway, and Intimidator almost was. When I left around 2 the parking lot was mostly full except for the outer reaches of the South gate side.

There was a new twist to the queue line today. Employees stopped people near the lift motor, then opened up part of the fence. Behind the fence, In front of the storage tracks and beside Hurler's turnaround, they'd set up a new section of switchbacks using temporary barriers. After going through this section the line re-joined the permanent queue. When they first opened this up it ate up quite a bit of the line as we all snaked through the empty queue section. At first there was nobody in the first few switchbacks past the entrance, but when I got off the ride those had filled up and the line was again spilling out past the new Coke building. I'd guesstimate that with the extra people that section holds the wait from the ride entrance would be 20-30 minutes longer. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see a new permanent queue section placed back there for busier days. This is starting to remind me of Batman @ SFOG with it's seemingly infinite queue areas that are apparently used at random. (Heaven help anyone that's ever had to wait in the FULL line for that one, it would have to be 3-4 hours).

I guess Good Friday needs to join my "days not to go to the park" list, but on the other hand it was nice seeing the park getting the crowds they deserve for putting in Fury. And the new parking and park entrances handled the crowds very efficiently compared to the old setup, so good job there.

Speaking of lines, this may have already been asked but does anyone know how lines will be this coming week seeing that CMS has off next week? I plan on going during the day since I don't have school but I don't want to wait a huge amount of time for every ride.
