That makes a lot of sense. For a person without a pass that includes parking it's only 10 bucks more, larger lockers are more expensive than that.

It is a double cheeseburger versus the regular cheeseburger everywhere else.

I was at the park yesterday. We got there at around 1:30 or so. It was like a sea of glass when pulling into the parking lot. We had to park next to Top Gun and walk in through the South Gate. If anything I'd like for the south gate plaza to get renovated. We also used FL+ yesterday and it was well worth the money. The ticket and FL+ costed each of us $122.00
I'll have video up soon.

Just a thought. The Vortex fountain may have been removed due to the construction of SlingShot. I could see utility lines being rerouted/removed due to that construction. It was probably more trouble to reroute the water line that feeds the fountain than it was worth.

I think the South Gate will be renovated to be a dual park and waterpark entrance.

Think about where it forks and on the left you are led to County Fair and the right takes you to Afterburn and Dinos.
It could be changed to the left path leading to the waterpark and the right into the "main" park.

If the rumors of County Fair being reworked and the rides reshuffled to make way for Soak City in 2016, then I think this is why the South Entrance wasn't closed down this season.

It would be cheaper to build a new South Gate....
And let's face it, amusement parks are cheap. Not to mention the source for that rumor is much like Absolutely Reliable Rumors and News.
I can see Whitewater being removed but the whole County Fair too...no

I don't even think they would need to do much reshuffling. Tear down the unused Action Theater and you've got a big entrance into the new side of the waterpark on the other side of Thunder Road.

2 of the 5 Paramount Waterparks have become Soak City so I figure ours will too or maybe Wildwater Kingdom.

I truly and sincerely hope that when given the chance to re-theme the water park they follow on the Carolina aspect that Carowinds has. Besides Knotts and Worlds of Fun, Carowinds is the only other park in the chain with someone what a theme to it.

Amen to that! I think an Outer Banks theme would be fun. I don't think it would be too difficult to tie into the Carolina RFD area.

When I think Carolinas, I think of creeks, and small waterfalls, and quiet places to swim. I know that there can't be many trees in a waterpark (due to clogging the pipes and filters), but if there was a lot more shade to make it feel more quiet and to make it seem more out of the way, it might have more of a Carolina theme to it. But a good water coaster and some tall slides (and a new paint job) wouldn't hurt any either :)

Personally, I'd rather see Blue Ridge Junction replace Carolina Boardwalk in the park and use the Boardwalk theme for the water park. Goldrusher doesn't fit in a beach themed section.
