Thanks Axel. One of my favorite things about getting older is that I pretty much say what is on my mind. It's fun and I figure I have lived enough to deserve this little treat. :-)

Not everyone's body is the same. I start to get sick on rides when I have an empty stomach, which makes people more prone to motion sickness. Immediately after eating is actually the best time for me.

Same here Jonathan. I've got to have something in my stomach or else I get sick. Complete opposite of "normal" people.

Sometimes, rides can be too intense for my body to handle at that moment. Let's say I ate 2 hours ago and I got on a ride. For me, there are moments where the ride can be too much. If the ride is too intense, I could still get sick, even if my food is digested.

jeffdavis wrote:Could the increased vomiting events be partly due to the boost in crowds? The marketing campaign for this season has been fantastic and I believe it has drawn in a lot of people who are not regulars and might not be cut out for "more intense" roller coasters and rides. Combine that with the increased patronization of the food stands thanks to better food and the dining plans. It's a recipe for more frequent vomit in my opinion. There are only two rides at Carowinds I've ever "got the feeling" on and they are Nighthawk and Carolina Cobra. Something about the motions and reverse cycle got to me so I had to take it easy for a while afterwards, but I managed to hold it together.

Again with the puke reports! Euuuuw! I'm trying to remember being at a theme park and seeing someone puke. It's so rare that I can't remember. This is unsettling to me because I don't get sick on rides, but what DOES get me sick is seeing someone else puke or walking past puke or something like that.

It is getting out of hand. I expect that sort of thing more at traveling carnivals with all the "spin and puke" rides not an amusement park.

Littlegiles wrote:there are footballs now too hahaha... caught me off guard when one flew right past my face.

You are right sir I saw them yesterday. It's like every 6th person was throwing a football around. Just great we got basketballs bouncing everywhere now football throwing. Hey lets just add a soccer ball while you're at it.

I am thinking dodgeballs. I feel like I am in a dodgeball match when I'm walking through a group of kids with their basketballs.

And slightly off subject, but what is up with all the caterpillars at Carowinds? They were everywhere yesterday. I guess Fury 325 is not only attracting humans, but animals and insects alike! lol

Dharma_Guy wrote:I went yesterday and stayed almost the entire day. I was glad the weather held out until almost the end. I did experience something yesterday that I can honestly say I have never experienced in all my adventures to Carowinds. It was a puke fest yesterday! I was getting on Fury 325 the first time and some kid on the train before we were about to get on had puked all over himself. He looked terrible. So, they cleaned it up and I think they ran that train a couple of times empty. Then, we were getting on Carolina Cobra and once again, they ride was held up because someone puked. There seemed to be some confusion from the employees how to handle it because the ride was held up for a while and we ended up getting out of line. And we barely missed another puke episode on Afterburn. I must have an iron stomach because I don't ever feel sick on rides. I just have this stupid grin on my face (as apparent in all the pictures on the rides) and everyone that rides with me says I laugh the entire ride. I got 3 more Fury 325 rides in yesterday to up my count to 5 this season. I love this coaster more and more each time I ride it!

It was probably the same person all three times.

speaking of flying balls, caterpillars & vomit... does anyone regularly try their hand at the 3-point challenge near intimidator? the game hosts are hilarious when insulting everyone (except little kids, of course)

Hopefully Carowinds has a proper puke policy with housekeepers on standby alert to quickly address and contain this problem. So that the area can be quickly cleaned up and the ride will not be significantly delayed. Because it can create an unpleasant experience and people don't like to be kept waiting. I was at the mall the other day and somebody got sick in the food court. There was a problem locating the housekeeper and various food service workers were arguing over whose job it was to clean it up. I kept hearing, "Somebody done throwed up!" and "That ain't my job" and "I don't know where housekeeping be at." The whole episode was very unprofessional. Meanwhile diners were forced to endure the stench and a very unpleasant sight. So it is very important that such situations are handled properly and cleaned up quickly.

Maybe Carowinds can combine a planned Camp Out with an inaugural "Pukefest" ! Everybody has to ride some particularly nauseating ride until they puke. Between each round of rides they have to eat something specially selected to enhance puking by our executive chef. The last person that hasn't puked would win a season-long fast-pass for four people. Protective outerwear would be part of the admission fee...
