General Carowinds discussion

Unless I'm missing something, the line for Fury 325 does not look bad at all. There's a gap in the trees and it looks like if they were using the full queue we would see people in that gap. It looks like they're only using 1/3 of the queue. I suspect it's only a 20 minute wait. It's been said before, this ride eats people! There's a steady stream of people walking in and out.

If the weather still looks good I'm going to head down there after work.

Hopefully they all pack up and leave right at 5 o'clock, so it's slow after work through 10!!!!

Weather looks iffy around 7pm, hope it holds off, really wanting to get back on some coasters after being in New Orleans a week.

I think it is also a Choral Festival day. My school's Chorus went on a trip to Carowinds today.

Last night was awesome! Got there around 6:30ish, went right for thunder road for my son. It was down. No worries. We hit the pirate ship. Carolina cobra. Gold rusher. Got some crab fries. Hurler twice. Fury (child swap) I rode front left. God I love that seat!! Walked on intimidator twice. Called it a night around 9:30. What fun. My seven year old is 52" and is chomping at the bit for the big coasters. His time will come. However, carowinds has a great deal of rides he enjoys too. I can't wait for him to conquer the big ones.

I was at the park from about 12:45-4:30 yesterday and got two more rides on Fury. My last visit, I only got to ride it once and couldn't really decide between it and Afterburn for my #1 in the park, but now I'd say it's probably taken the top spot (although it's extremely close). Everything from the drop to the underground dive (especially towards the back of the ride) is spectacular - the turnaround in particular is fantastic near the back of the train. The s-curve is probably still my favorite part of the ride, though.

The main reason it's my #1 in the park now is actually because of Afterburn, more specifically Afterburn's corkscrew. Up until that point, the ride is essentially perfect, especially if you ride in the back seat like I did. However, because of the increased forces in the back, the corkscrew is a bit too rough for me. With that said, the first drop and zero-g roll/batwing combo are even more exhilarating in the back seat.

This was my ride count yesterday:
Fury 325 - 2x
Afterburn - 2x
Windseeker - 1x
Vortex - 1x
Intimidator - 1x
