They take down a Thunder Road and NOT NightHawk? Whoever thought this was a great idea, is certainly an idiot. Cedar Fair is ripping apart Carowinds in a bad way.

I honestly doubt any of this is indeed a for sure thing at least at the moment. Are there any random officials or workers roaming the tracks hacking away at the track or structure? Beyond a number of reasons of why it could have been down, would it not be exciting to see RMC officials roaming the tracks? Maybe a Twisted Colossus type renovation make it even longer and extreme......one can dream though. Gosh people being so literal and making knee jerk reactions....GAH.  Anyways I hope it reopens by the time I can make my first visit of the season.

I still don't believe it, I agree with CarowindsCentral on this one. If Thunder Road comes out, then that will be a worse decision than Paramount Parks made to destroy the riverboat.

Oh my goodness. Calm down, kids!
They put those signs up on rides all the time at Carowinds. I've seen them on Hurler and Rapids both this year. When the park isn't projected to be very busy and they are low on staff, they choose not to open some of the rides. They also put them up at the end of the night to keep people from getting in line when the park is closing. Does the sign say "This ride is closed FOREVER and doomed to become a pile of firewood?" No. It just says it was closed at the moment the photo was taken.

The general manager of the park has already personally refuted the Thunder Road rumor, I'm not sure what more you guys need.

Besides, they have plans for Thunder Road next year anyway, so they kinda need it to be standing for next year.

Thunder Road is staffed to open today, currently there is cherry picker up to what appears to be the lift motor. As stated earlier, they were just fueling the fire that doesn't exist.

You can only replace and repair that lift motor so much before its time for a bonfire... :shh:

It will totally be torched before money is spent to repair the lift hill motor! Better go take pictures of it now before it gets charred.

They were more just suggestions that they liked. They will do something but not exactly sure what yet.
