General Carowinds discussion
#76640
Went to Carowinds yesterday 4-24-15 for the first time since season pass holder night and opening day . We got 12 rides in on Fury including my first 2 times in the front row. A few rides were down from time (Afterburn, Intimidator, Fury, Carolina Cobra.). Also the one time I went to ride Thunder road it was closed off and we never went back to check if it was up and running. Anyone know if it was in operation at all yesterday?

Yes it was, I rode it last night 3 times without having to get off.

Oh it was so good. The funnel cake was fresh and the peaches were nice and warm, tasted almost like the filling of a peach cobbler, covered in whipped cream. Although there was some confusion with the TOTC card and getting the funnel cake. I had to go to another stand and have them ring it up as a moon pie then carry the receipt back over to the funnel cake place and they made it for me. I kind of want to try the orange dreamcicle one, but I know I won't be making it back up there before it ends.

Because giga coaster is a completely made up marketing term and saying "world's tallest and fastest traditional lift hill coaster" doesn't exactly roll off the tongue.

I didn't know they were doing the Peaches & cream funnel cake at the TOTC. I don't remember seeing that on the menu. Drats! I'll look tomorrow when I'm there. i still have one sample left on my TOTC Card.

Maybe this has been discussed but I did a forum search with certain keywords and netted way too many results to check every one of them. So here goes...

Has anyone else noticed that FURY 325 (nor Leviathan) are not mentioned on the B&M website? In fact, they don't even mention the fact that they design "giga" coasters. They mention every other coaster type except giga. I find that odd. Maybe they just haven't updated their website since their introduction into the giga coaster world. Any ideas from the group?

I know, it's just amazing and really annoying hearing things like "omg it broke just like on the news!" Or "nope not riding that."

In other words, I heard the most interesting complaint about Fury I have ever heard. While exiting Intimidator somebody asked their parent if they like Fury or Intimidator more in they said Intimidator because "Fury was too smooth."

Are you sure they didn't say something different that sounded like that? I'm not questioning you, it's just the fact that I'm not even sure what "too smooth" feels like.

Rounded up my Fury count to #10 today.. got 3 rides in within 45 mins this morning, so the chance of rain and it being a Sunday seemed to help. They seemed to be shifting the crew around quite a bit, so while waiting in line we saw a few rides that were almost silent (no asking if they enjoyed their ride, if they were ready to go out, etc.). By the last few rides it seemed like they knew what they were supposed to be doing and had the riders hyped up. Maybe it was just a rough morning.

Didn't actually witness Fury stalled on the lift but did see Ricochet closed and maintenance working on something. Poor Ricochet isn't important enough to make it on the news.
