Have you ever been to a concert? I have never met any coaster that would be remotely louder than even the most quietest concert...

Right!!! You'd have more chance of hearing an airplane (which you don't) before your here a coaster flying past. LOL

Since some items may or may not been seen regarding the toll plaza what's your take on the new entrance now?

The noise factor did enter my mind when I got the email from Carowinds today about an upcoming concert - The Fresh Beat Band. I think it's great that they are getting some current and relevant acts in the underutilized Paladium. I am curious to see how the roar of the coaster might affect something like that which is scaled down from the noise of a rock concert. I wonder if this coaster will be filled with sand like Talon and some others since it is in close proximity to the Paladium.

I think the newer beemers only roar if you want it to. Other than banshee I think, that's the only newer one that has the classic roar...

Well, current as in they are still actively on Nick (maybe Nick Jr I'm thinking of). They have been around awhile but it's current for Cedar Fair. I guess I should have said 'more current.'

I bet the track will be filled with sand to calm the roar like Talon. Which is a shame I think because the louder the B&M roar, the better! Kumba baby! That will most likely fix the noise problem at the Amphitheater.

Anyway I've read this a couple times throughout the forum but is the general idea most of us have is that a new front gate might be built over the tunnel? Like Gatekeeper goes over, our giga goes under?

I was thinking the same thing. Isn't it the amount of sand that determines the roar of a steel coaster? I've always liked the sound Afterburn makes. I still don't think it's enough to drown out a concert.

If you look at the prints there is a Main Entrance and a Lateral Entrance. It appears to me that at the Main entrance the coaster may go over while the Lateral entrance looks to go under. But, then again do we know how far out they want to push the entrance? One could draw lines to intercept the two but that does not push out the Gate much. Maybe I am missing something.

My idea for re-imagining the front gate is surrounding the plaza with long pergolas and adding a fountain behind the state sign. I feel that adding pergolas would give the plaza a 'gateway' feel and make it feel like you are arriving somewhere and not just walking into an amusement park. Hanging planters would decorate the pergolas.
Yellow is where the pergolas would go and blue is the fountain.

The way that Steve made it sound at WW that there are already plans for this area in the pipeline but with budget and time it wasn't in the cards for this season. But give it a few more seasons and I feel we will see this area and a few others in the park will change greatly...or at least I hope so.
