General Carowinds discussion

I'm a programmer and if I was designing the ride, I would already have built in to the system a counter. The computer can know if a rider is in a seat by the level of the harness. I would think that it counts riders without the push of a button. (They probably have the equivalent of a "don't count" button if they're running the water dummies.)

Fury has a system to count empty seats. There is a + and a - sign. For example, if there are 4 empty seats, I would press the + sign 4 times. Let's say I miscounted and there is actually 3 empty seats. I would just press the - sign to subtract an empty seat. In my opinion, this system is better than having to press a button per rider because if I have 4 empty seats, that's 28 riders meaning I'd only have to press a button 4 times as opposed to pressing one 28 times.

Its So Funny! I remember seeing them yesterday!! I thought it was interesting that the little girl had on a sweater. The only other person I saw with anything like that was my cousin with a jacket.

Why are there no Carowinds brochures anywhere this year like at travel plazas, rest stops, and welcome centers? I thought for sure with Fury 325 there would be plenty of promotion. But both SC welcome centers on I-85 at both the NC and Georgia lines do not yet have any. Nor at some of the Pilot truckstops. And haven't seen any at various hotels either. Apparently someone in PR has dropped the ball this year. Even my workplace that sells the discount tickets has no poster or brochure, but they have Six Flags and Dollywood signs prominently displayed.

Hey guys, I can't find the original post where someone was talking about CF's themeing (sp) and not keeping up with it year after year at different parks. I recall a post regarding Disaster Transport when it used to fly around planets etc, as well as After Burn's tunnel fog/mist not working in previous years.
That being said, I was at the park tonight and noticed that the green LED hexagon lights that were installed in Fury's tunnel no longer flash when a train is going thru. Will this be yet another cool feature that will disappear or do they intend to keep it as originally designed?

If I am not mistaken, others may be able to correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that the lighting effect in the tunnel was turned off due to it interfering with a sensor on the track under the tunnel.

I was there as well! I didn't see it happen but I was on the stairs when they took him away.

Sounds like they took them off the hexagons and added them to the lift.

Weird how they couldn't figure out how to not make the lights interfere with the sensors.
