I'm not sure if you could pay me to go to any theme/amusement park on Memorial day......it's funny that people know full well that it will be crowded as hell, yet they STILL go to stand in line for hours........WHY? Unless you have fast lane plus of course......But even then, on a day like that, will that still be fast? I wonder what the longest anyone has waited for fast lane plus?

The longest I have ever waited with a fast pass was at SFMM (they merge fast lane well before the station at many of their coasters) and at HHN at Universal (on a Thursday). Both times we waited about an hour for a popular ride/haunt.

The great part of Memorial Day crowds is they help finance the nearly empty days that I visit Carowinds.

When are those, might I ask? :)

Our family did Carowinds two years ago on Mem. Day and to be honest it wasn't horrible. Scarowinds opening night was way worse. We did Dollywood last year and everything was walk-on til about 11:30. God bless the troops.

Not too bad tonight. Four rides so far in a little over an hour. The crew is killing it. Getting trains out of the station before the one after finishes the ride.

The best times for short lines are rainy days, late nights, and Sunday mornings.

Memorial and Labor Day weekends usually see the busiest days on Sunday. The Monday is often not busy. I plan plenty of trips on these weekends because of that. CP was not very busy at all tonite.

My goodness the Fury crew was killing it! They had to get 6 cars out in 5 minutes for the record and they did it. Amazing. They all lost it when they hit the record. I ended up doing 15 rides or so over the day--no line over 20-30 mins.

You were there? How did I miss you? Again. And yes, they were going stupid fast!

I was on that final train that broke the record. Even the riders were going crazy!

We went today and survived! We went knowing we were only going to ride a few rides and hit the pool. That's the beauty of a season pass- not feeling like we have to everything in to get our money's worth in one visit. Got there early to get two rides on Fury before park opening. Hit Intimidator with only a ten minute wait, rode some smaller rides/coasters and went to the water park. On the way out between 5 and 6pm rode Thunder Road 4 times. It was very crowded but we did what we went to do and had a good time!
