Well, I don't know about any one else but I am a bit wore out after C3. KenB and I never left, even during the rain, and I have never walked that much around Carowinds.

That scavenger hunt was pretty good but I think if we have it next year spending 5 or 10 minutes looking it over and breaking it down to "known" sections it will save a lot of walking. WE saw a member with a walkie-talkie which I thought was good but with only one copy per couple that might be a bit hard. Never saw any of the Whootah gang during this part. Where did you all go? I did see one member, and I have to laugh, at the Keyhole photo shop stop a boy from bouncing his basketball in front of his parents. They just lookid stupidfied.

The ERT and LRT(late ride time) was great. I think it was the LRT I liked the best as the rain made Thunder Road sweet and actually racing again was awesome. As I am one of the few who love Vortex it was great to ride many times before the general public came in. Did any of you notice the line for Vortex during the day? Wow!!! Top Gun at night was just simply awesome. My feet never had so much blood pumped into them from the G's expecially in the tunnel under the walkway.

The lunch was as expected but all you can eat for free is great. Jonathan, how were those ribs?

On a sad note I hate to see Scott leaving the park and hope him well. I have only talked to him a few times but he seemed like a great guy. Hopefully who ever takes his place has the same attitude.

Thanks Max for all you did.

Well as I told you guys I went home to "do some laundry". lol

You aren't alone. I'm still worn out from C3. I was so tired I ended up calling it a day at 9:00.

I wanted to stay, but I didn't feel like riding in the rain. I'm a wimp I guess. But I get sick easily when being out in the weather like that.

I've posted my pics from yesterday on my album http://community.webshots.com/user/carowindsflyer

So does that mean a coaster for us fellow columbians!! lol lol (if only). Im sure he's gonna like it there that place is awsome. So far they have several attractions (carousel and 3D theater) and not to mention the botanical gardens. Now I can harass him about what's the next animal the zoo is gonna get!

I was there and I must say I was Worn out. Although I wasn’t enjoying the Rides I was having to work. I did work both ERT and LRT. Thunder Road was short staffed for LRT so I was sent there. I was Driving Borg during ERT and I was working the unload side of the Silver Train. The racing of the trains was fun. Myself and the Attendant from Blue unload side got into the racing bit tooo. I did have a lot of fun during those times. I actually did get rained on during the Beginning of the Storm, but I was able to Escape before the Downpour happened.

Yes! C3 2004 is in the books and it was a great time! I enjoyed the morning ERT (even Vortex as I really like that coaster) and lunch was Whootariffic! The Whootah Crew spent alot of time in the Kids Zone area during the hunt and yes, that was me that stopped the basketball. I really wish they would sell those things deflated. I actually stopped it because it was about to roll into a crowd of people and somebody was gonna go down.

The "Goldrusher Gathering" went off without a hitch! We headed into an EMPTY station and filled a train completely! A great ride with alot of really good moments. I would like to personally thank everyone who was there. (Unfortunately, I was feeling not so great just at that time and didn't really have the enthusiasm that I wanted to have during the ride.. Darn ulcer.)

:( Scott has done a great job in the last three years and we all wish him well on his new endeavors with the Zoo! The prizes were VERY good and I thought the contest was really fair. We stayed for the "Magic of the Movies" show after our meeting to watch Dave and Phil get up on stage and make sounds for the Sleepy Hollow sequence. It was a riot. Jonathan was taking still shots so we should be seeing some pictures of the craziness soon. We cut out during the rain and had some dinner at O'Charleys. Best darn garlic mash potatoes i've ever had!

Got back to process our season passes for next year and then hit the Nighttime ERT! I loved the way it started out on TR with the wet tracks! Man it was running awesome. I actually got air on the RETURN trip... that NEVER happens.

Top Gun was running great as always. I must take a moment to say that the ride ops for the morning and evening ERT sessions were really friendly and accomodating. You guys and gals are the best and really helped make the event for us... THANK YOU! I finally got to meet fluffy as he pushed the magic buttons on Borg! Fluff, we will have to find a day when you can hang with the Whootah Crew when your NOT working! :)

After many a ride in the evening it all came to a close. I was grateful and tired to say the least. Thanks to Scott, Robert, Max and the rest for pulling off a great event! Now.... where to hang that certificate...hmmmmmm.

Ahh yes, the certificates. :D
Those were pretty funny but the guy who sent in 2003's entry form took the prize.

I think you should hang yours by the toilet for a good chuckle while "thinking". :P

By the way, where was that dang Elmo picture at?

I'm starting to recover from C3 - I was pretty dead Sunday. It was well worth it though, I had a great time, from the breakfast up to the very end.

The park did a great job all around, with good ERT sessions to start and end the day. BORG and Vortex were both a bit shaky, like usual, but I'm one of the crazy ones that likes both. I sucked at the Scooby shootout, which I usually do on this ride due to always having a crappy gun - or crappy aim, I'm not sure. I think my damage was 790, not good at all.

The Goldrusher Gathering was great, although it's becoming harder and harder to squeeze myself into those trains. They sure seemed a lot bigger when I rode first rode it 25 or so years ago. This coaster still brings a smile to my face.

Forseer, Bgwfreak and I got to ride the usual suspects of Top Gun, Thunder Road, Drop Zone, Hurler and Cyclone before the crowd got insane after noon. While waiting for the Skytower, we noticed that not only did BORG have an insane line, Vortex had one as well. I'm crazy enough to like riding Vortex, but not enough to bake in the sun for over an hour to ride it - but these people were!

I thought the lunch was pretty good all the way around, although I started to suspect we weren't going to hear the expected Boomerang Bay announcement when there was no theme whatsoever to the lunch, nor any hints dropped. I thought it was wild that the two guys from the UK were there, and thought it was very cool that Scott gave them an award as well as awarding one to the couple that came the furthest distance in the USA.

Then...the scavenger hunt. Forseer and I did pretty well, but due to some faulty navigation on my part we had to backtrack a number of times. And it was HOT. But it was fun going around the park looking for these little tidbits of information. I was not too fond of the "Fill in the blanks" questions, as there wasn't enough room to write the answers AND some of 'em had me writing a freaking paragraph, but other than that it was fun.

The presentation wasn't what I was hoping for, with no announcement about the 2005 attraction, aside from "it isn't a Delerium". It almost sounded like a replay of 2003 when most of the rumors were for flat rides and an Old World Marketplace refresh, and they changed their minds and we got Reptar and Nick Central. I'm glad Scott didn't go along with Max's idea, which was pretty devious and twisted, and may have set off a small riot. Ok, maybe that woulda been fun to watch - "When ACErs Attack!". The assistant GM, whose name escapes me at the moment, had some interesting comments during the Q&A session. He basically stated that the areas that they want to work on are to add capacity to the waterpark, work on County Fair, add to the kids area, and to add to Nick Central.

Forseer and I got pretty good prizes for our 6th or 7th place in the scavenger hunt, although I'm not sure when I'm going to go on a picnic. Guess the picnic set gives me an excuse. Wonder if I can try to use it IN the park? Somehow I doubt it lol.

Forseer and I took our prizes to the cars, went back in and eventually wound up at Outer Hanks for dinner. We had it all planned out - hang out there while it rained, then get lot's of rides after the park cleared out from the rain before night ERT. Of course we ate, sat there for a good while, no rain - so we started walking around. Right when we get to Nick Central, now without the very nice "rain shelter" that was the Sternwheeler waiting area, it starts raining. And it rains some more. And then - some more. We found refuge under the roof of the Nick store that kept us pretty dry. When the rain subsided, we walked around to Top Gun. I figured I wanted to ride that along with the woodies which should speed up a bit with wet track.

Well, at least Top Gun has a nice roof - since we had to wait there for quite some time as the rain came back, along with some really nice lightning this time. We got to watch them cycle trains for awhile, stop, then start again before finally loading around 8:45. I then realized that I had been at the park all day, and hadn't ridden anything since Skytower at about 12:30! Top Gun was running pretty well in the wet.

Then we headed to Thunder Road, which is quite interesting in the front seat of the forwards train in the rain. We noticed it was running noticeably faster than usual even on the run out to the lift. We got a backwards ride next, which had a spot that seemed to be a test for the stairway effect on Italian Job. From there we headed down to Hurler, which totally transformed with the wet track. It was flying around the entire course, with good airtime on every hill, and was even fairly smooth through the turns. Those had to be my best Hurler rides in about two years.

Time had come for the night ERT, which had Thunder Road actually RACING! We had witnessed this from the station earlier in the day, but didn't get to do it on our rides, of course. They did race most of the time during the ERT when we were there, and the forwards train was delivering some solid airtime in the backseat.

Top Gun ERT closed out the night, with a number of rides all over the train, including several up front, and 3 rides to close out the night in back. It was delivering near-Scarowinds quality rides, with only a barely noticeable slowdown on the station flyover up front. I love this ride! I'm thankful it and TR were the night ERT though, not sure I coulda taken BORG and Vortex at the END of that day.

Thanks to all that made it happen and made it fun, and I'm looking forward to next year's C3!

Hehe I was awesome at the Scooby Shootout with my 2550 score. Although Max messed up and didn't announce me as the winner :( I did end up getting the prize bag when he realized his mistake... so all was good. The whole day was awesome and I'm already lookin forward to next year!

I'm so sorry about that. I went back and looked at the scores as we were leaving and it looked like 255. My 0 looked like a period. I'm glad you were able to get something for it (and I think you cleaned up in the hunt too! Congrats. I think I saw you carrying a load of stuff out.) That's what I like about the park, you're going to leave with something, winner or not.

Like Scott told me, its the first year doing do it so we'll have some kind of mix-up. Its to be expected. (For those of you who did the scavengar hunt last year will attest to that statement!) You'd better believe that I'll let somebody else write down the scores next year!

I think we'll do Scooby again next year. It seemed to be really popular and maybe we can let everybody get some practice time on it first and then do the actual competition part.

Now, if I can get this twisted idea worked out with the FSS.....(Be afraid....Be very afraid.)

I like the practice round idea. Or better yet, get two times in and take your best score.

My mystey machine was very mysterious. It wouldn't shoot at anything! My fright lights must have been frightened from working. lol

I was robbed!!! Only got 150 points. :(

But I love that ride and it was a lot of fun.
