General Carowinds discussion

Farm animal additions wouldn't have an appeal to me or anyone in my family. We have a zoo pass for Riverbanks here in Columbia if we want that.

Finally get to page 82 so we don't have to wait for 4 or 5 videos to load every time. Maybe delete the video reference when replying to a post with a video?

There's a rumor going around that KBF might go with a full topper track re-track of Ghostrider. If this is true, this is what I'd like to see happen to Hurler. I don't want another wooden coaster to go away, and if Carowinds is going to leave us with Hurler for a while, I'd like to experience the ride like it was back in '94.

I recently read that B&M were trying to cut down the weight of their flying coaster trains so they could create a launched version. I would LOVE that. Imagine it right where Nighthawk is, flying over the water, with smooth transitions, insane elements, improved capacity, and a killer launch (something the park is severely lacking). If they needed more room, they could utilize the area behind Nighthawk where 7th Ward sits, overall its a decent sized space. I picture it solid white with the gold track, kinda like the early ideas for Centurion. Hell, they could even call it White Lightnin' and bring back the "Lightning Strikes Now!" thing. If not this then the next best thing would be one of those sweet looking Mack launches, imo!!

Anyway, I had to get that off my chest, even though it's probably unlikely. (although the park did say they were looking into a launched coaster next...) I guess that's the beauty of the actual wishlist thread...

But now that Thunder Road is apparently leaving, they're gonna need another woodie. So who knows if plans have changed?...

My wishes in no particular order...

A RMC. Transformation or new I don't care I just want
one bad
A GCI. I hear great things about the Cedar Fair GCI's

Any Intamin/Mack launched. Please.

Flats. Thrill or not. This may seem dumb but I want them mostly for the ride count. In terms of numbers the lack of flats at this park is embarrassing really.

Lastly. LEAVE THUNDER ROAD ALONE!!! Can we get that chick crying about Brittany to say it?

My wishlist in order...
1 - Launch coaster, preferably White Lightnin' themed, doesn't have to be to big
2 - Signature wooden coaster, a classic, preferably GCI
3 - Log Flume/Water Coaster, the bigger/longer/more theme the better
4 - Flat rides, preferably something like Max-air or better drop tower
5 - Water park complete renovation, new rides, new theme

Here's a question for you: IF we were to get a launched coaster soon, which seems very likely, do you think the park would benefit more from a full on thrill coaster like Volcano at KD, or more of a "Transition" coaster like Verbolten at BGW? Personally I'd prefer a thrill coaster, but I think the park could use either one.

With the void that will be left by Thunder Road, the park will benefit more (ride-wise) off of a Verbolten/Cheetah Hunt type ride. Personally, I'd like to see something like Manta at SWSD in Nighthawk or Vortex's spot (preferably Nighthawk's spot).

why not a B&M flier in both Nighthawk and Vortex's spot? Add more water, re-rout the central path there, and have a 5th B&M... This is the wishlist thread. I'm just wishin'.

I don't want any more B&M's in the park. I love the 'big 3', but I'd like to see more family friendly coasters at Carowinds. B&M's don't cater to families as most of their height restrictions are 52-54". I want to see more Macks in the park.

^ I completely agree. I loathed B&M's as a child, because I was never talk enough to get on. 48 inch height restrictions are beautiful. These limits are something many enthusiasts never consider, but something many children live by as far as coasters go.
