Not true... Gravity Group redid Hades into Hades 360.

They just took out an airtime hill and replaced it with a 90 degree right turn and a zero-g roll. They didn't "re-do" the coaster.

^^That's not really the same thing, though. That was just a reprofile of an existing wooden coaster with no change in technology. RMC has so far been the only company to take a wooden coaster and change it into a steel coaster with basically a completely new layout.

Having ridden both Hades and Hades 360, other than adding the corkscrew and putting on new Timberliner trains, the rest of the ride was virtually left untouched (for better or worse).

The park plans to save some of the wood. You'll find out why soon possibly.

Perhaps the park is planning to build a history museum and keep a few pieces of the wood on display...

I've been intrigued on if Thunder Road was going to actually going to come down or not but my suspicion of its demise has pretty much been confirmed...... I've been waiting for this link to be clickable since 5/18. Listed as "Carowinds New Project"

So, no flume? We better get a proslide water coaster out of this. It would suck to get the same thing every other park got to replace Thunder Road.

This project involves the demolition of the existing main entry gate into the Carowinds Amusement Park and associated plaza areas and walkways in order to construct new a new ticket building, guest services building, gateway, and renovated restroom building. Additionally, 2 new walkways to the gate will be constructed. The project crosses the state line, and portions within SC will be permitted in York County, SC. We understand from discussions with Robbie Zink that this project will be reviewed by the City for compliance with PCCO and Tree Ordinance. The project is to be reviewed by NCDENR Land Quality for erosion control, and plans are currently submitted to their office."
