General Carowinds discussion

I don't know, for me, it doesn't really matter what they replace Thunder Road with - I think the park will always feel incomplete because it's no longer there.

That doesn't mean I don't want something great. Hopefully we get a lot more than a simple waterpark expansion. With that said, for me, going to Carowinds after TR is removed is probably going to feel a lot like eating a cheeseless pizza, for lack of a better analogy. Still enjoyable but lacking something that should be intrinsic to it.

LOL!
I'm going to flip flop again and say that even though I'm sad TR is leaving, at least the new addition will get Carowinds one step closer to being the regional amusement park of the southeast.

Some people on here really need to realize that not everything can stay at Carowinds. I love TR as much as anyone and I'm sad to see it go but CF knows what they're doing and they know that if they're removing such a loved coaster they will need to replace it with something great (Or face the sh*tstorm the GP will drum up). And to everyone complaining about Rollerbee's negativity, at least he isn't shoving Carowinds Zone down our throats anymore....

For starters your signature is an advertisement...
I can dig up old posts if that's what you want

Please dig up the posts cause my signature(unless rules have changed which is possible) is not in violation of Carowinds Connection rules. Furthermore signatures don't show up on the mobile verison(which I use). No forums I have ever been a member of has ever told me that I couldn't link to my site in my signature.

Forgive me for being proud of what I created.

You are on a Carowinds fan site, advertising another Carowinds fan site. FOr a quick comparison since you obviously think you are doing nothing wrong, would Carowinds be cool with members of Dollywood passing out flyers around their park? My guess is they would not. Second, a small percentage use the mobile site. What does that have to do with anything? OK, so your crappy site doesn't show up when someone views CC on a mobile device... what's your point?

This is the exact rational that I don't get at all...

There aren't that many "classic" Carowinds attractions left in the park as it is. And with Thunder Road gone, that leaves even less. I think that's where the outrage is coming from, not just that some people can't let go of this one particular ride.

Personally, while I understand that this is happening to "move Carowinds into the future" or whatever, it's hard not to think that there could have been some workaround that let the park keep Thunder Road and still get whatever it is we're getting in 2016 anyway. But we don't know all the details yet, so it's really hard to know exactly how to feel about all of this.
