^^I agree, the cardinal train was terrible. We went on the very last seats in the train and there was also this terrible screeching coming from the track until we got over the hill.

Yeah yeah, I only have 43 credits.... so what? (though by Jay standards I could have 44 because of Thunder Road) :D

That's not the part I meant... :shifty:

And someone on KIC posted this link; I'm surprised it wasn't posted here as well...

Two things:

1) Ouch, we are letting a sister park fan site from Ohio beat us to the punch?
2) Nice snarky little tagline by Mr. Kiel "ruined the weekend of a few dozen roller coaster enthusiasts"

I found this part of the article kind of interesting:
Under a plan approved by the county council earlier this month, Carowinds can set aside that money for improvements within a designated development district surrounding the park.
I wonder if we could see the area around Carowinds become Virginia Beach-esque. I'd love to see more attractions around the park. That would give it more of a destination feel than it has right now. At the moment, the area Carowinds is in gives it a roadside attraction-feel to it. I'd love the area around the park to develop. :D

On thing for sure Cedar Fair is taking advantage of all the local tax opportunities available to them. No other park has so many opportunities to get this much local support: NC , SC, York, and Meck counties.

I don't have the online link, but I've been using VLC media player to look at both webcams. Not as good quality as the original site, but it's good enough.

Oh yeah. Good idea. I think I might have shared that many months ago, and even I forgot about viewing it that way.

They URL you need is:

edit--

Here's my full instructions for viewing the cams in VLC

This is random. Probably because it is 5:48 in the morning and I can't sleep, but I've been looking at the Carowinds The Early Years site. I miss Blackbeard's Revenge. Yep. I said it. I remember loving that "ride" growing up. I know there was nothing to it and I think my greatest enjoyment was watching the reactions of people who have had never been on the ride before. You would see them start to freak out because they thought they were going upside down when in reality they were stationary. Ok, random post over. Back to your regularly scheduled discussion. I need to sleep.

Everything this morning was pretty much walk on. Only a 1 maybe 2 train wait on Fury.

While I was there I also noticed ( and pointed out to Tawny whom I was with ) that there was a random marker in the pavers behind Windseeker near the basket ball game. Not sure if it was anything significant, but it seemed pretty far out from anything going on near TR next season.

Yesterday was similar. There were more cars in the parking lot, but no lines. Almost everything was a literal walk-on. And the rest may as well have been. 10 minutes at most for Fury. My longest wait was for...Ricochet...haha.

I was there with my daughter a few weeks ago.and walk-ons all around.... EXCEPT.. you guessed it, Fury (15 mins), Nighthawk (of course is why I don't ride that), and ... wait for it....RICOCHET. We waited almost a half-hour on that. What gives?

I understand why there may be a little wait for Ricochet. But yesterday, it was absurd. One of the girls working it was in super slo-mo and acted like she would have rather been scrubbing toilets. The crew had no pep in their step...especially bummed-out zombie girl. Even the slightest bit of effort could have cut the wait in half.
