The reason why I chose it is because I'd still love a flier in the park, but not a vekoma,

I will say that now that my son is finally tall enough to ride some things, I wish Planet Snoopy would be expanded with more kiddie rides. There are only a few things to do in the park for those 36" - 40" tall.

I hope Nighthawk is on its way out soon. It should be relocated to Dorney or WoF. I want to see a giant ferris wheel (150+) in the spot of it's station. Leave the lagoon open for paddleboats or something. Also, this is a very minor thing, but I'd like to see Hurler's trains painted brown.

I guess I'm one of the few who like Nighthawk. I've been on much worse than that one. I prefer it over the Superman clones, but Manta (SWO) is much better in terms of flying style coasters. I hadn't been to the park since Oct. 2008 so when I ride it next week who knows how I will feel about it.

The next coaster is still 4-5 years down the road, but what should the park add (excluding floorless Vortex)? This is less of a wishlist thread and more of an observation and prediction thread. What would make Carowinds' collection more rounded?

1. GCI/TGG woodie- This is the obvious choice with the absence of Thunder Road. The park needs a new signature woodie, and unless it gets the "Thunder Run" treatment, Hurler won't cut it. I just wonder how marketable a traditional wooden coaster would be. I'd take a mega woodie from RMC if it didn't have inversions, but I think Cedar Fair would opt to get a woodie with inversions.

2. Manta-sized Mack Launch- This addition would be so PERFECT for Carowinds! It would fill two voids in our lineup: the good family-thrill coaster void left by Thunder Road, and the launch coaster void. I honestly can't think of anything negative about this addition. It wouldn't even have to be made by Mack, Zierer could come in and make a scaled-down, non-themed Verbolten.

3. B&M 4D coaster- The enthusiast in me is DYING to see this become a reality, but it wouldn't fill the family-thrill coaster void or the wooden coaster void left by Thunder Road. It would probably carry a height requirement of no less than 52" which is better than the other B&M's but still not as accessible as rides like Carolina Cyclone or Hurler. But coasters are the future of Carowinds, and a 4D coaster would give the park more national appeal. We got height and speed covered with Fury, and we probably won't see a new strata in the chain anytime soon, so Carowinds needs something unique. I doubt many people on the east coast have ventured out to Texas or California to experience the current 4D coasters, so this would be pretty unique to the region. It could put Carowinds back under the national spotlight like Fury did, so it wouldn't be a bad addition. It's just not something the park needs.

Out of these three options, the Mack launch is probably the one I'd pick. It's just so perfect I'd have to be insane not to choose it. But we'll see what the park has in mind in 2019 or 2020.

I would like to see a launched wing coaster like Thunderbird come to Carowinds. Afterburn is the only adult coaster in the park where your feet dangle and the park could use another rollercoaster with that feeling.

What I WANT to see is a Premier Launch Coaster like Full Throttle. The one loop would look amazing among the other coasters that dominate the skyline!

What I WANT to see that is more likely, is a Mack Launch Coaster like Tarheel said, Something small. I loved manta and I think that if Carowinds got one, it would be an amazing addition to the current lineup.

Before Thunder Road's removal was announced, a Helix-style Mack Launch would've been my next pick for the park as well. While I'd still like that to happen at some point, I think we need a solid wooden coaster first since we don't have one anymore. I do think something like Lightning Rod would be perfect for the park since we'd be killing two birds with one stone (launch/good woodie), but I'd almost rather there be two separate coasters just so the quality of Carowinds' lineup improves that much more.

But yeah, a woodie is definitely my next pick for the park at this point, perhaps one that's designed by RMC as well. I'd also want it to be taller than all the other coasters apart from Fury/Intimidator since there's a huge height gap that needs to be filled (Intimidator is about 2x the height of Afterburn/Nighthawk/Cobra). Maybe something in the 150-200 ft. range.

I'm not saying that your opinions are wrong, but I personally feel that Carowinds isn't that desperate for family rides. Paramount took care of that problem in the early 2000s. With Goldrusher, Ricochet, and Flying Ace, there's plenty of rides for parents to get their kids on before taking them to the BIG rides. Although, I wouldn't mind seeing a Mack launch find its way into the park. Haven't been on one, but everyone who has swears by them.

Carowinds isn't desperate for family rides but without Thunder Road, Carowinds is in need of a quality family-thrill coaster and a step-up ride from the family/kiddie coasters. Like I mentioned on the Thunder Road thread, most people are not going to enjoy Carolina Cyclone or Hurler, and while Ricochet is alright, it's still closer to the family side than it is to the thrill rides. Carowinds needs another coaster for people 48" an under that's also something thrill seekers and kids can enjoy alike.

I would love for Scrambler to get some love. Taken apart, completely repainted, new stickers on the front and back of the cars, new queue fences (that match each other, unlike the two different types currently in the queue), and the unused control booth removed.

Why are there two control booths on scrambler anyways? :?:

Scrambler and Scream Weaver could use a good led light package also. A cover over the queue line for Scrambler would be great.
