Nice! I wouldn't ride Cobra 7 times though

I used to keep track of how many times I had ridden every coaster and flat ride at Carowinds and at SFGAdv.. I also kept track of how many times I sat in each particular seat on Intimidator.... I don't know why I did this. I was in middle school... (Un)fortunately all this data was lost when I broke my phone and lost all the notepad notes from my trusty Env2

^^^ I wish I'd have known you were there! We could have ridden something together.

We spent the morning riding dry rides with Wesley (saxrockinhomo) , and then my daughter and I went to Boomerang Bay. We waited maybe 3-5 minutes for each of the new waterslides and everything else was no wait at all. The activity pools were empty. It was awesome for us to not have to wait or share. :)

The ride on Skytower was awesome. Probably my favorite ride of the day, just because I've missed it so much.

One thing I noticed today that I thought was odd, was some of the bright orange markings went straight through the walkway to the two new waterslides they put in last year. Would they move them as part of this whole expansion thing??

I was riding Fury today and I noticed that the rows that had white wheels in the beginning of the season are now swapped out for yellow wheels. Why is this?

2 Train waits for Fury and Intimidator yesterday. (Although Fury was testing by the time I left)
On Fury I sat next to a nice family who's home park must be Cedar Point. It was their first time on Fury. :D
I was SO happy to ride Skytower.

^^ The yellow wheels are the polyurethane wheels and the white wheels are the nylon wheels. Nylon wheels cause less friction so they don't slow down as much as polyurethane wheels. During the colder months of the season, for example March, April, September, and October, they swap out some of the polyurethane wheels for nylon wheels because when it's cold outside, the train runs slower. Since it's running slower, they want less friction so the train won't go any slower than it already is. This could cause the train to valley/stall. This is also why in the warmer months, they use polyurethane wheels because the trains run faster in the warm weather and they want that friction to slow it down.

Wow. Just wow. The bar has been set high.

Was this from open through close? How long were you in the park?

^^^Unfortunately the weather has turned colder again. Fury was noticeably slow yesterday with yellow wheels. I didn't feel much airtime.

One nice thing about this weather, the park was empty. We did Ricochet twice, Hurler 6 times, and Fury twice. Each coaster was walk on and all rides were consecutive without leaving the station.

^Even on Fury? I was there once and was litterally the only person on the ride, came back to the station and no one was in the que and the guy still made me get off.

I have a random question. I plan on going next Tuesday. I have a season pass, but I am thinking about buying a fast pass plus for the first time. When you buy it online and print out the paper, do you present that at the ticket booth at the entrance to get the wristband?

^^^ It depends on the ride OPs. The lead for Intimidator just made me leave the station so he could dispatch a 1/2 empty train (just happened 10 minutes ago). Other times I've been told I can stay in my seat if no one is waiting for my row.

I think this comment is probably good advice. I've been twice this week (tuesday and today). And they aren't even operating Intimidator and Fury with all three trains. And I haven't waited more than 5 minutes for either. Mostly I would call it closer to 2 minutes to walk-on status for those rides (see below also). The one exception was for a Fury malfunction that required maintenance to reset and run some test trains (Fast Lane would not help with that). Afterburn was running one train today, I boarded the very next trainload after walking directly into the station (and then rode a second time, without getting out of seat). Thunder Road was running one side today, and of course it was a walk-on.

Maybe it'll be better weather, and have bigger crowds than this week. But I'd just wait until I get to the park and see what the crowd is like that day before spending money that might not get you any additional rides in. If you were planning for a Saturday trip, go ahead and buy it advance for sure.

--edit: I just looked at the weather and it says 50% chance of shower and thunderstorms. It would really stink to buy a fast lane and not be able to ride anything if lightning is in the area. And a weather forcast like that (of course it may change) will keep the crowds pretty thin.

Yep, earlier this afternoon I rode Intimidator 4 times in a row, without even getting out of my seat. But then there was a shift change, and the young ladies that were letting me ride repeatedly jumped on and rode with me. But when that last ride was over, people were standing in line for my seat. So of course it was time for me to move on.
