General Carowinds discussion

^ That is odd. Plus I doubt the park would start demolition before they close the ride.

Anyway, look what I found:

:sarcasm: I feel like I should mention that this is a cropped picture of Kings Dominion's employee ERT event.

^Tarheel, getting better at the artwork there! :sarcasm:
Exactly my thoughts, kinda hard to be actual piece of Thunder Road when the ride is still operating. Maybe a piece of scrap wood borough for use on Thunder Road at best.

Oh boy, Soak City here I come.....
Umm oh that's right, you replaced my favorite wooden coaster. Emerald Pointe here I come!

So Afterburn, Southern Star and maybe Yo-Yo will be safe everything else in County Fair is a goner. "Allegedly" I have heard this from multiple supervisors in the park. I do take some thing with a grain of salt only because I have a great relationship with the boss man and he's told my some things that I will let August tell you all. I'M STOKED. My friends think it's sad most employees know my name and face by heart. Apparently I got to Carowinds way to much. Lol

Does anyone know whats going on with RRR? While on Fury today I took a look and its been drained. You can see the concrete bottom of the trail/route.

I find that hard to believe.

^^The bottom being the lowest point of the ride or the retention pond by Fury's supports? I will note that neither is normal during the season. From what I have seen the retention pond normally has water in it during the winter but this past winter, they drained it too. Probably just showing it's age. It is an Intamin after all I think. During the season, I think the big circular area normally has water when the pumps are off. I swear that section looks like it was for a turntable.

^Which part Chknwing?

ripping out all of county fair. doesnt really make sense to do that when they dont have to, if they had land constraints, I could see that but that's not the case. You just dont spend a lot of money and work to demo a whole section of park to expand the water park when you have a ton of room thats already cleared already,

so just cut down more trees to clear land instead of using land on the other side of thunder road? awesome. just awesome. Think I will buy a plastic tree to carry around carowinds next year.

Yeah, I know I'm late to the party.

I was shocked by the announcement. I mean I have ridden Thunder Road all but maybe 2 years since 1973 but, after having time out of the country and thinking about it, I can see where Thunder Road could be the brick wall Cedar Fair needs to knock down. I also see the need for something to be done with that entire area, and face it, our water park ain't great, Action Theater is a joke, Bumpers can be moved and so can games.

So, I was thinking it would be cool to have Thunder Road come down by a controlled demolition. You know, little sticks of dynamite, and watch it come down in style. That way it could have the last Thunder.

Yeah, so I am curious as to the possibilities for 2016. Carowinds is going to become a NEW park for generations.
