cwgator wrote:^I really enjoyed Intimidator. My first ride Monday was a mid-train seat and trimmed to death but was ok. My ride on Tuesday however was back row right seat and was much better and first trim barely noticeable but the next one I could feel. I would personally rank it better than Goliath (sfog). I think Apollo's Chariot still beats it for me however. That may just be nostalgia and scenery too.

Fury 325 on the other hand...WOW. My first ride was in row 5. That put it in my top 5. When I got the back row left I would say top 3. Then today I got back row far right seat...may be new #1...just need to sleep on it.

So how would those two compare to the others in the park for you (since I see you have both Afterburn and Nighthawk in your current top 10)?

expressing ones feeling on a post in a thread isn't acting like a mod. I doubt I am the only one tired of reading through pages of either arguments or rants on stuff thats not even thread topic related.

So back to Thunder Road.... What do you guys think they will do on the last day of Thunder Road? Will they have a ceremony? Or race it all day? Or just act like they forgot it was the last day? I'm hoping that they will have some sort of ceremony with music (maybe the Brass Band playing the Carowinds March?) and maybe they could give out last rider pins like they did for Mantis.

I hope they do have both sides open for its last day of operation. Racing would be ideal, but even if they aren't racing the whole day, it seems necessary for them to have both sides running,

#SaveThunderRoad is getting on my nerves. People act like the higher-ups at Cedar Fair run the parks social media. The GP get on my nerves already but #STR made it worse.

I understand wanting to save the ride but spamming every park post about how the park "hates their customers" and "will go broke in a few years because of this decision" was annoying after seeing it thirty times.

#TorchThunderRoad!

Some people aren't going to accept it. I know some people will be trying to #SaveThunderRoad until July 26# and even on July 26th people still won't accept the fact the ride is leaving. Now, the GP probably thinks Carowinds is probably removing the ride just for the heck of it, but us coaster enthusiasts know it's a business decision. We just have to deal with it but don't worry! It will stop eventually.

^ Interesting article, even more interesting quotes by Jerry Helms (particularly the last one):

Everybody that likes this roller coaster and wants to ride now has time to come out and ride it as many times as they like and create new memories. Then we can move forward.

I had never ridden a roller coaster until I came to Carowinds. This one was taller, faster, dual train. So, it was exciting at the time. That's why we enjoyed it so much.

Everything comes to an end. It's really been an enjoyable ride, but with the new rides you have to upgrade.

Sorry for fueling suspicions, I know it can be a touchy subject these days. lol
