My partner liked the pizza at Harmony Hall better than The Open Kitchen. Well after comparing them myself I agree. I was expecting the Open Kitchen to be top notch but wasn't. So kudos to Carowinds with Harmony Hall on providing a descent pizza option better than the place that originally brought the pizza pie to the Charlotte area in 1952....lol

The food this year is so much better. The pizza I had last season was the first in my life I have EVER thrown away after one slice. Last time I was at the park I used both my dining plan meals for the pizzas because they were that good.

I have to agree with everyone else. After eating KI's pizza from FestHaus, Harmony Hall's pizza looks like a delicacy. They were the same prices too!

The one meal I had at Harmony Hall was mediocre. The sidewinder fries were delicious but the burger I had, in my highly-American opinion, did not have "enough meat." I might have a better opinion of it, but some woman was holding up the line, so by the time I sat down, my food was luke-warm

When I was at the park on Monday, all of the flags were at half-mast. Did some one pass away? If so, do any of you know who it was?

Had a somewhat mediocre trip to Carowinds today. Went at 5:00 and left at 7:00.

Pros:
-Got a front seat ride on Fury, left side, and it was amazing! There was literal blinding speed, I could not keep my eyes open. The wind was incredibly loud. It was totally disorienting! Unfortunately I only got 2 rides on Fury, so my ride count is only up to 9.

-Amos' model looks incredible! The information pieces are so much bigger in real life.

-The fudge at Carolina Candy is great. I got mint chocolate, tiger butter and peanut butter-chocolate.

-No lines

Cons:
-Got "rained out" (no actual rain, just constant thunder and lightning)

-Some woman yelled at the Fury ride manager for stopping Fury EVEN THOUGH SHE SAW IT WAS STORMING OUTSIDE!

-Rude employees, slow operations on Intimidator.

-Didn't get to ride Thunder Road.

Intimidator felt a little sluggish even though the trims were barely hitting. Weird....

The trims barely hitting indicates it's running slow. The trims hit hardest when it's running too fast, I believe.

Chris is right on this one. But Chknwing is equally as right  We rode Fury 3 times, then Intimidator 1 time and I could really feel the difference. Intimidator was running faster than usual though (because the trims hit very hard). It was still very fun though. Then we went and got 6 more rides on Fury before leaving at 6pm.

that's the Fury effect

The weird thing was that I rode Fury AFTER riding Intimidator. Anyways, the flags were half mast because of the Charleston shootings.

This was my biggest takeaway from when I went on Father's Day. It was incredibly slow.
