Original controls. It's quite interesting. I know of a few wooden coasters that still use this type of skid braking system.

PLEASE revisit this idea of making a museum somewhere in the park.

My vote is for making Premiers into a museum and building a new gift shop where the plaza stage is as a throwback to the Emporium. For some reason, I feel like the general public would hate it.

Why didn't they build a museum in the Action Theater instead of this super new first in the world interactive experience that is rumored to go in there?

And they would literally have to retrofit the building so much it would probably be cheaper to build another due to the stadium style set up.

I say rip out Boo Blasters and restore to how the outside was back then as Harmony Hall and make that into a museum.

I will never understand the hate for Boo Blasters. Even with the targets broken, it's still better than 60% of the rides in the park.

I would love to see a Carowinds museum, but I would l like to see them build a new building for it instead of removing something from the park for it. They have a lot of room to expand without having to remove a ride or attraction to make room for something new. Boo Blasters may not be the best thing in the park and it could use some work, but it does usually always have a line for it.

If Carowinds does a museum, they should ask for volunteers to do fact checking cause who ever does it for fun TV sucks.

I have at least 1 or more brochure from every year since the parks 1973 opening (I may not have 2007 or 2008 brochures). Also have several old large fold out maps. I also have the original 16mm film which I have converted to DVD, on the building of Carowinds that was released in 1974 and shown on local TV stations. Also have an original 33rpm record of the Carowinds theme song from 1973. I have plenty of old postcards and was lucky to find a collection of original 8x10 aerial photos (color & B&W) of the park while under construction. One of my most prized possessions is a press kit from the opening year showing the proposed Carowinds hotel with the monorail stop. I have just about every press kit since 1992. Yes, I was a huge collector of Carowinds stuff at one time and although my interests have changed over the past year or so (especially since the park has gone downhill over the past 4 years), I would be hard pressed to offer these to a museum unless they took full responsibility for their safety. I already gave David Mandt & the park a copy of the 16mm film short back in 2000.

Swamp, reading your post from 2009, you mentioned that your feelings for the park have changed, and the park has gone down hill the past 4 years. Here we are 6 years later and the park has gone through a major transformation. I'm wondering if you now feel differently about the park?
