General Carowinds discussion

Novelty, Smaller parks? I doubt Holiday World would agree with that statement. I also doubt we will see many more giga coaster built soon. It is only a matter of time before Goldrusher falls victim too, it was on the chopping block once before.

Giga-coasters are the future and wooden roller coasters are a novelty for smaller parks that rely on hokey nostalgia to limp along.

Yeah, I could not possibly disagree more with that. Honestly, that whole article is pretty negative. The author does not like Carowinds, has no interest in going there, and that does not really change in the end. It's basically all about "I don't understand why my mother ever liked that awful place."

^^The only park that I could see getting a giga within the next 10 years is King's Island. Other than that, I doubt any more will be popping up anytime soon.

^^There are rumors of Busch Gardens Tampa getting one....which is why Seaworld got the hyper. Then again it is just a rumor and Gwazi could still get the RMC treatment....or why not both. Guess we'll see in the years to come.

If they happen to change Wings into something else I'm glad I was able to take some pictures while there a couple weeks ago. It used to be my favorite spot to eat years ago.

If it's because of Paramount theming, they may as well remove the T-G off Afterburn's station while they're at it...

Agreed, Knotts was rumored years ago but I would be shocked. Anyone have an idea how they could possibly fit one there?

Yes.

Re:BGT And a giga- I wouldn't count on that anytime soon. They can't afford to tear down Gwazi, and downgraded a Wing coaster to a Mack spinner.

The Intimidator crew needs to step up their game. The wait for this ride on non-busy days are ridiculous. I remember when Intimidator was a people eater. Now, I feel like with Fury open the Intimidator crew has no pressure to quickly load guest and get them out of the station.
Yesterday they were running two trains and still stacking... How do you stack with two trains on a coaster designed to run three?
I honestly would not mind the Intimidator getting lockers as the bins in the station are half the problem. Before when there were no lockers on rides I didn't think it was that big of a deal but now with lockers for Fury I am noticing the difference.
Sorry to rant but the crew yesterday on Intimidator really put a damper on my day in a way.

Anyways, I tried the Brisket sandwich yesterday with my meal plan and it was pretty good, and of course I had my pizza from Harmony Hall as well. I don't know if it had already been discussed but the dining plan does not work at Chickies and Pete's, however you do get a 10% discount.

The dining plan does work at Chickies and Pete's for the Philly Cheese steak and the chicken cheese steak. I had them both with my dining plan on Tuesday and Wednesday.
