OK, so I dropped by Carowinds on the way home from work today (roughly 6:00pm) to ride FURY 325 and was greeted with this huge pedestrian traffic jam upon entering our "new" expanded entrance...
Original quote from Aug 2014 announcement....... "
We are making way for a much larger, more spacious and more welcoming front entrance plaza. Pergolas and lots of greenery will give a nod to our Carolina heritage, and larger ticketing and Season Pass processing areas will help improve efficiencies"
I would be curious to know how much of that $50M was wasted to make our "newly expanded" front gate just as congested and time consuming to enter the park as it was in the previous years. Honestly, what was the point of spending the money if you are just going to close all of the gates except for maybe one or two? And btw, I counted eight entrance turnstiles and two exit turnstiles. There were only two employees scanning tickets for entry and FOUR employees at the exit turnstiles handing out stamps??? Does it seem logical to have a line of guests trying to enter the park being funneled down to one que line, I'm terribly confused and worried that this is sending the wrong message. Both York and Meck schools are out so it can't be blamed on a shortage of employees. Doesn't Kings Island have a separate entry for Season Passholders, I can't recall? Ok rant over, thoughts and suggestions welcomed.....
