Out of curiosity, the color powder thats used for this event and other similar events, is it the same color powder used at the Taiwan water park that ignited and burned 498 people?

So I noticed that Bondi Beach is not symeterial like Big Wave Bay, and that Bondi's wave seem very rough and rowdy. Does the difference in the side wall and zero depth entry area make any difference in the waves? The wavepool design seems to be standard with Cedar Fair too.

OK, so I dropped by Carowinds on the way home from work today (roughly 6:00pm) to ride FURY 325 and was greeted with this huge pedestrian traffic jam upon entering our "new" expanded entrance...

Original quote from Aug 2014 announcement....... "We are making way for a much larger, more spacious and more welcoming front entrance plaza. Pergolas and lots of greenery will give a nod to our Carolina heritage, and larger ticketing and Season Pass processing areas will help improve efficiencies"

I would be curious to know how much of that $50M was wasted to make our "newly expanded" front gate just as congested and time consuming to enter the park as it was in the previous years. Honestly, what was the point of spending the money if you are just going to close all of the gates except for maybe one or two? And btw, I counted eight entrance turnstiles and two exit turnstiles. There were only two employees scanning tickets for entry and FOUR employees at the exit turnstiles handing out stamps??? Does it seem logical to have a line of guests trying to enter the park being funneled down to one que line, I'm terribly confused and worried that this is sending the wrong message. Both York and Meck schools are out so it can't be blamed on a shortage of employees. Doesn't Kings Island have a separate entry for Season Passholders, I can't recall? Ok rant over, thoughts and suggestions welcomed.....

Yeah this is one of the reasons we are debating not holding passes anymore. It is so unwelcoming and they treat you like criminals. I was holding my key, a pill caddy, and eye drops and they looked at each item like it was a weapon. Starts every visit by getting me upset at being treated so poorly. Oh and then I see people in the park later eating food they have brought from home...how accurate are these checks really?

Oh and bring back the walk through scanners, because the wand process is much more invasive.

^^ I am also tired of being treated like a criminal so Carowinds can put on thier security theater. Early in the year they didn't set up security all the time. We've been going to Carowinds less often now that they scan every day.

As far as people bringing in food, consider that the TSA misses 90% of prohibited items and Carowinds security isn't nearly as thorough. Also, you can bring your own food if you have a food allergy.

And guys really...being treated like a criminal...I take it some of you have never been to jail or racially profiled...What carowinds is doing is a walk in the park compared to TRULY being treated like a criminal...

I've had nothing but pleasant experiences with the security this year. The only day I had trouble was opening day, and it was because of my camera and tripod. But apart from that, 30 seconds in bag check, 10 seconds being wanded, and i'm in the park.

I have no issue with being wanded, they always did that at my high school's sports games. (I felt more "treated like a criminal" there than at Carowinds honestly, though that was probably necessary given some of the people at my school...)

My issue is that the line is always incredibly long to get in. In past years I feel like there has been a separate line for people with no bags to be checked (am I remembering this correctly?) and I rarely had to wait in a line of more than a few people to get in. I remember there being lines, but they were usually for the ticket booths or for bag checks, neither of which I usually had to wait in.

Trying to get into the park yesterday was horrible. All I had was my cell phone, and season pass. Every line had a bag check. No seperate line for Season Pass holders, or even one for those without bags.

This was not fun, especially since it was brutally hot.

Hello everybody...New here. Sorry to go off topic but I would like some advice regarding Fast Lane. I will be visiting Carowinds for the first time on Sunday the 19th. I realize that weekends are usually never ideal at any park, but it is the only day I will be able to squeeze it into my family's vacation. Are Sunday's at Carowinds usually horribly crowded and if so would anyone recommend Fast Lane or is it worth the extra money to get Fast Lane Plus? I would like to hit all the coasters with time to spare for resides on the B&M's. I plan to hit Nighthawk right away. I am skeptical about buying Fast Lane Plus because after Nighthawk, the only other coasters on it are B&M people eaters, but the regular Fast Lane doesn't seem to include too much. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. :D

Sundays have been pretty mild this year. There will be lines (probably no more than 15 - 20 mins) but it won't be crowded enough to warrant fast lane. I visited on a Sunday in May and was able to get re-rides on Fury.
