I guess I'm just not picky. I like the outside, either outside. But I'll happily ride the inside too. I usually give my wife her pick, and take the other. She's cool and so it's probably about 50/50 I get the outside.

Can someone please explain to me why this isn't an option?

No one can explain this. There is no rational explanation.

I can't explain it. So, I'll take a crazy wild stab in the dark of why they don't give the option:

1. The first group of four asks for the front seat-- assigner says, "yes" -- they go to wait for first row
2. The next group of three asks for the front seat -- assigner says "yes" -- they go to wait for first row
3. The next couple asks for the front seat -- assigner says "yes" -- they go to wait for the first row
4. A single rider asks for the front seat -- assigner says "yes" -- they go to wait for the first row
5. Another group of four asks for the front seat -- assigner says "yes" -- they go to wait for the first row
6. A group of three sees that there is wait of 4 trains (in the station) for the front seat and asks for the back row -- assigner says "yes" -- they go to the back row
7. A couple make the same choice for the back row --assigner says "yes" -- they go the back row
8. the next train leaves the station with 25 empty seats (ride operates at less that 25% capacity)
9. A group of 4 from the FastLane asks for front row --assigner says "yes" -- they go to the front row
10. A group of four asks for the front seat --assigner says "no" due to mob already waiting for the front row, the fact that the ride is operating far below capacity, and the line is growing unnecessarily-- that group of four starts screaming "it's not fair" -- the other operators step in to try to calm the situation -- they get screamed at, and one of them gets shoved-- security is called
11. ride capacity falls from the current <25% capacity to 0% until security arrives to throw angry people out of the park -- ops eventually return to running the ride
12. repeat the first 11 steps, all-day-long

^Would be an example of why they need to drop assigning seats period. Unless the ride is walk on, I have never seen empty seats sent out on any coaster when guests pick their own seats.

agreed as well.

However, to be a devil's advocate, I kindof like it because at least I have a chance for the front row. Unless its a fairly short line, once I make the station, I'm really not in the mood to get in another line of people just to get front row. At least this way, I'm guaranteed at least a chance I'll get front row and actually have gotten it on Fury about 25% of the time. Maybe the odds are just favoring me for now and I'll never get front row again, I don't know.

Hello everyone. I have been following this thread since construction began, and would like to throw my two cents in.

I think this loading procedure is just for this year, as a way to allow maximum capacity due to its popularity. I agree it can be annoying, but personally I like all the rows equally as much in different ways. I think the way they should handle it is to allow people to freely choose front row, regardless how long that line gets, and have every other row selected. This is like how Leviathan handles it, except on that ride, they sometimes allow you to choose a specific row, depending how long the line for those rows are.

On this topic, why do they only fill one trains worth of people at a time? In my experiences, the seat assigning person will assign each row with up to 4 people and then stop and wait until those people get on the ride to start assigning again for the next train. I think there's definitely enough room to have up to 8 people waiting in one of the lines. If they do this, then there won't be a huge problem if something slows them down or they make a small mistake. (That is, when they only assign one train, they might be too slow to fill all the rows and send out a train with empty rows. But if they keep going and assign up to 2 trains, then they have a buffer zone in case something slows them down for a moment, then they can catch up after.)

Just count me in as one who has been able to get a requested seat on the back row. This was during my 2nd day at the park a couple weeks ago. The line was only to the bottom of the stairs which may have played a factor. I'm sure it really depends on who is working that spot and who is breathing down their necks whether they will grant the request or not. The day before I didn't request since the line was much longer and got in the middle. As far as which side I prefer, my last ride was back row right and I liked it more than back row left. I had so much going on that week I forgot to try and get the front row (including spraining my ankle/foot coming down the exit stairs after my last ride)...oh well I usually like the back better anyway...lol

I guess I'm weird but I actually like the way they fill the station and let a trains worth of people in at a time. It keeps me from having some many people breathing down my back since I'm almost always at the park alone. I think it Also decreases the amount of confusion and un equal loading with increases their efficiency. When I went last Wednesday they were loading the trains every 45 seconds running all 3. I'm not picky about where I ride on the train the whole dang thing is fast as all heck and I get a different sensation for every row and seat combination. I rode back left and felt like I was on a completely different ride. It just keeps it interesting for me!!!!!

I think they should add some little cubes for shoes in the station as I don't like sitting on my flip flops and if you leave them in the locker, they tell you to wear them next time.... Or at least allow flip flops to be taken off in the station, as the concrete may be to hot to take them off anyways.

Also, does anyone know when the discovery channel will be showing all the filming of the making of fury and that other show they talked about at Winter Warm Up? I know a lot of water park shows have been on the last few weeks..

I've been talking with Devin on his documentary. He's hoping to have it finished and published by the end of the month. but things could change. They've been working on it for about two years now.
The other show for Alabama Splash Adventure was supposed to air this month, but again. Things can change.

Went to the park yesterday and rode Fury 10 times by lunch. Crowds were super light. Being a single rider I was lucky enough to ride in the front 8 of those 10 times! There is nothing like riding Fury in the front! It makes Intimidator seem like a kids ride :)

I left at 12:00 but the line was at the top of the steps. I could have ridden it all I wanted.
